My dad is a police officer. One of the worst cases he ever got was a call he thought was a prank call, but showed up anyway. The call was about a girl telling the operator that her mom was abusing her sister. My dad got there and the sister came out all quiet, he said that the oldest didn’t speak English very well but he understood basic things. The younger sibling then came out and he was shocked. The girls face, back, hair, legs, and arms had all been mutilated with box cutters. My dad called in back up and arrested the mom on the spot, and the dad was so grateful to get his daughters away from her. Worst part was she only got six months in jail. Luckily the family had a lot of ties in that area and my dad found out that the girls’s father was able to bring them back to Mexico before the mom got out. I was so proud of my dad cause at first he was the only one who wanted to take that call ❤

I spent 6 months in hospital after she threw me off some steps. My baby brother was pushed and again she got away. Each time they left her because she was pretty. I was that child. I got put in foster care from age 3 to 8. It wasn't the same as this situation, they weren't hitting us I don't think. But I did have 2 brothers, probably similar in age to the first two brothers. And I was 3. I don't remember it all. They were into a lot of drugs and stuff and stole from their work at one point though... And I can tell you right now the foster system was horrible but it was the absolute best thing that could have happened in such a shit situation. So I can say that as much as I also worry for them. And I know that the older two have chances of not being adopted- my brothers were both younger and weren't- I can also say that the state does pay for medical and therapy especially if they age out. Even college if they age out... So I can say that even if emotionally it sucked, the reality is that it was the best option. Our situation was neglect, but the first family seems to still have their mom, the ones that don't still will be better off without those parents.

Please, please, PLEASE stop blaming the little girl in the first clip. She is an innocent child who is, in NO way, responsible for her father's actions. She has grown up in that environment and believes it is "normal". She doesn't know any differently. She has been taught by her father that he has the 'right' to treat his children that way and that he's doing nothing wrong. Of course she's going to defend her father. She loves him and she believes him. She's not defending him because she wants to see those things happen to her brother. She and her brother have been conditioned to believe his lies and it is so engrained in their heads that they are wrong and their father is right that the younger son immediately begins telling the police that he was "being bad" as if his father's actions are completely acceptable and understandable because the boy misbehaved. Both the boy and the girl are defending their father. Neither one of them should but neither one of them understand that they shouldn't because this is all they have ever known and they have complete and total unconditional love for their father. Nothing worse than a big ass man beating his children because they beat him at a stupid game. I am so damned tired of the way kids get treated by the very people that should be protecting them. I wish I could adopt all of the children that are suffering at the hands of their parents. Children deserve to be loved and treated with compassion and understanding. I have two daughters and I know how hard it is to raise children but that shouldn’t cause anyone to mistreat them. I love my daughters too much to ever ever lay a hand on them. God please protect the children of the world.

It's been 50 years and I am still that 1st beaten and abused little brother. In my 20s, I had 8 years of analysis, and I'm still broken. Children are said to be resilient and maybe some are but most are precious and fragile. With early, immediate, intervention and counseling these boys have a chance at a normal life. Once you've been beaten down with fists, angry foul mouths, sick perversions. Even the S.Abusewas angry punishment and deep pain. The bruises and broken bones heal. But the emotional wounds stay on and on. You always feel at risk. You avoid the unknown and you feel exactly like you did 40 years earlier. You try to remain invisible. It prevented me from scool plays. I was always the curtain puller. I had to stop watching at 4:32. Watching it has me shaking in fear and anger. I couldn't even feel anger until my parents died. I was the youngest of 6. My family believed in 'trickle-down abuse'. I felt safest curled up under dirty laundry at the bottom of a plastic laundry basket, under the stairs. Louvered doors with that adult shadow pausing at my 'cubby hole' door. Best wishes and better child protection. This wasn't his 1st time. Where was children's aid?!

I'm 58 now.but I was hiding under the dirty laundry or inside a gutted mattress. and a gutted recliner trying to escape the abuse. I was knocked unconscious many times. They called an EMS only once when they knocked me unconscious and even EMS didn't do anything. When I woke up and saw some guy shining a flashlight in my eyes, it absolutely terrified. Me and I went flying across my bed trying to get away and tear . Dms guy gave me a look of disgust and got up and walked out saying I was fine. I was kicked on a flight of stairs and chased after and repeatedly kicked in the stomach and head. There are so many horrors I could speak of that I went through as a child....smh To this day, I still feel safest locked away and never seeing another person...

The father, who says he makes too much money to live in a mobile home, is arrogant and an elitist. My mom bought a three bedroom mobile home after our parents divorced in the early 70s. She wasn't able to find an apartment or townhouse that would rent to her because they assumed we'd trash the place or cause trouble for the other neighbors. Our neighbors were hardworking people who wanted a less costly lifestyle than home ownership but didn't want to live in the city in an apartment. Some of my best childhood memories were during the time we lived there. I moved into a new double wide my ex-husband & I had bought & the park itself was situated in a country environment but with the ability to get to a city shopping center within a reasonable time frame. I still miss living there. I got to hear the frogs during the winter & the Canadian geese flying overhead. There was almost zero crime & some of the neighbors were kind & helpful. I would live in another mobile home if it was situated in a nice environment like that.

I also grew up in a trailer park that was on the classier side... no HOA or anything, but the landlord took care of the roads, and would make sure you did your lot's upkeep, and if you couldn't, he told his stepsons or bio grandson to do it for you. Some of my favorite memories came from having bonfires and pool parties with 'the boys.'

My dad used to be a lot like the first. He was slightly less physical around my mom but the video made me think of when I was 10 and I was doing school in the car and so we got groceries and went home. My mom was with my older brother on a trip and when we got home I put my backpack on my back and grabbed groceries and went in and my dad yells “why the fuck are you taking your backpack in before all of the family groceries? You need to prioritize the family” and I replied “dad I have groceries in my hand I’m putting my backpack down and going back outside to get more” and my dad head butted me “for talking back” leaving 2 black eyes and when my mom got home Monday we moved to my grandads house and I got to chose when to see him or not from there on! Biggest thing to learn is that you cannot continue the cycle. I’m now happily married and talk/act nothing like my dad
