Why do I see almost every race I see the brake bedal being pushed and held up to halfway or on other cars where it's only on like 20% approx even on a long straight, whereas the accelerator is used to the maximum? I don't know the name of showing the pedal inputs n stuff. Telemetry? Either way I don't understand the braking bit. Is that the maximum point to avoid locking up? And is the point of locking up different for all cars? Or is it dependant on the track? I don't understand braking.
@thedarkaffliction812112 күн бұрын
To my knowledge, cars brakes don't actually have a limit, you can always just push it harder, so the bars on the video is just an arbitrary limit
@TheVRRacer11 күн бұрын
It depends on if the car has ABS or not, as well as the weight of the car, the type of corner etc. Porsche Cup cars dont have ABS (at least outside the US). So locking a brake can be easy. Trailbraking and threshold braking are a big part of racing a car on the limit( especially these cars). Also sometimes braking earlier and softer is faster than braking later and harder as the car is more balance entering the corner (carrying more mid corner speed and a better exit). Its a good question to ask btw.

it's probably a load cell sensor with 100% mapped to some kind of force (example 50kg = 100% or something)
@peanutsareyum8 күн бұрын
it's just a pressure sensor, that has a max force reading. you can press on the pedal as hard as you want, but you'll usually run out of tyre grip before you run out pedal pressure. "100%" brake pressure depends on how grippy the track is at that time.

If taken seriously by stewards it is worth at least a ban of 1 race and a fine because it was completely childish behavior. If that driover (green car) repeat it would be ban from the series for the year and if repeating a ban forever. Brake testing then proceeding to block and cause collision is not a behavior the sport should take lightly, if he had anything to complain it is to complain to stewards, either team complaint during the race or after, not "road raging" like a stupidd kid playing some arcade racing game (and I see it a llot at ACC by drivers that just got overtaken or that dont want to lose their positions .. or just because they are jerks some laps beehind and want to see the world burn).
