I wish my mother would watch this. I am so deeply hurt about things from my childhood and if I ever raise it I am met with so much anger and poison & disrespect. It gets left unresolved every time. If I ask for an apology I am ridiculed and humiliated. She says, “apologise to you?! who are you? You are nothing”. She is too proud and has too big of an ego to apologise to her one and only child. Then she wonders why I keep bringing up the same topic over and over again. My dad is different. If I have a complaint he just listens. He doesn’t get angry with me if I get emotional. He stays calm and accepts what I have to say and the matter gets resolved straight away. He doesn’t even have to reply. Just the fact that he truly listens and accepts my point of view is enough for the matter to be resolved.
