31 here, I never had a gf. Grew up in a relatively strict household where I wasn't allowed to have a gf. As time went on I cared less about having a relationship since I don't find myself ever feeling lonely. And with how out of control today's dating seems to have become I'd rather focus on myself. I have plenty of hobbies to keep me busy and 2 best friends who I always hang out with. But unfortunately one of them passed away.

It makes catching up with them and talking about the old days that much more enjoyable. Everyone gets a bit more selfish with their time as they get older, but not in a bad way. Just simply not enough time in the day and trying to be successful enough to fulfill yourself doesn't fall into your lap. I see the boys a few times a year and it's always a blast. Freindships are mostly just circumstantial you make freinds at school because you're all forced there together and you get along with some people as its fun and makes time pass quicker. I don't speak to anyone I went to school with I occasionally bump into the odd person and thats it. Work is the same you're in a shit job together and get along and have a laugh to make time pass quicker. Freinds for life are few and far between. Nothing wrong with work freinds either but most of the time its only a work thing.

I feel like everybody I know in my life has a partner and I’m always the odd one out when I’m around couples wherever I go. It’s like it’s within universe’s will for me to stay single and lonely for the rest of my life. I’m constantly being ostracized for not having someone, almost as if it’s illegal to be single. Sometimes I do enjoy the single life, but when I see happy couples having a great time together, I often feel like I’m missing out. I don’t know.. but at this point, I feel like I’m gonna have myself a date with the rope. Life’s too difficult…

Loneliness is easier to bear when you have a purpose. If not, make one. If cannot make one, FIND one. Gradually, rise above yourself and become a pillar to your society and culture. I mean... the issue is people dedicate themselves so much to relationships nowadays it's crazy. It's like everyone's so desperate for one that once they find a relationship with a girl like both parties are inseparable. Like why can't you spare like a game night or god forbid two game nights a month with your homies?

Because many people are toxic as h311. Many of 'em want to micromanage *your* hours, and govern what you can or cannot do. It's a terrible trait; people become possessive, jealous, and fixated on what you do when you're NOT with them. Sadly, that represents a metric ton of individuals; they can't accept if you have a life of your own. Goals of your own. Projects which don't involve them. In all honesty, THAT is why nearly all of my partners freaked out on me. They HATED that I always had goals and objectives with or without them. But that's part of being an individual, and no one is permitted to take that from me. 💪😎✌️ No one can take the 30+ years of my accomplishments, and my current goals and achievements have nothing to do with them. If they can't live with that... TOO FLUNCKIN' BAD! GTFOH, lol. 😂🤣😂

It must be an American thing or something. In Sweden where i'm from, this is not an issue. Maybe it's the type of friends i have, but they'll never turn down a meet up with the boys just because their girls tell them to, and it's not like the girls usually have any objections or problems with it in the first place so they're not ever even made to choose.

After 30+ years of dating (and even marrying & divorcing once), I personally believe that most humans are too broken, selfish, brainwashed, and psychologically unstable to function "as a team". It just isn't plausible. And that's understandable to some extent because they usually have NO TRAINING in the disciplines required in order to function as a team. Instead, they're focused solely on themselves, and they contribute little to "the unit" (the two person team). This is unfortunate, but it's also a breakdown in society: most schools and parents do not TEACH teamwork... because they have no idea how it *functions*. 😂 And you can't teach what you don't have mastery over. 🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨

I know there are people in relationships/marriages that are happy and it absolutely is a good for both of them. However, we all know the truth in the majority of relationships- abuse, infidelity, jealousy, arguing, nagging, humiliation, etc....in most relationships you are trading time or resources for sex. And it could be said that's what's happening in all relationships. Some of us just aren't put together in a way that is conducive to initiating, and more importantly, maintaining romantic relationships.

After 30+ years of "relationships", I became infinitely exhausted of having to solve my partners' problems or to be their emotional punching bag. It made me disappointed with humanity in general; most individuals don't comprehend the word "teamwork" in any way, shape, nor form. They all think that they're "John McClane" or "Rambo" or something. Especially the females. Theres was a time friendships and relationships were sacred. These days you'll break up a relationship over the pettiest of things. That's why I'm a lone wolf now.

in my teens and early 20s i used to always hang out with my group of 3-6 guys , we were all competitive gamers and used to travel together out of state for tournaments. Nowadays in our mid to late 30s , im the only one still gaming competitively as a single dad while most of them are in relationships or just stopped gaming all together. Ive made new gaming homies over the recent years but nothing beats the times i had hanging out with my OG homies. Ive def become more of a loner type these past few years.

I completely relate to that last scene. 37 now. All my friends and roommates from college are all married and have kids. The more I stay single the more impossible it seems to be able to live a life like them. Growing together with a spouse seems increasingly unfeasible.

Hey man. Don't feel that way. It sounds lame but become you're own best friend. I'm 34 and basically future you. Women will come and go. Do what makes you happy. Its just fomo man relationships are sinking like the titanic in 2024. Just focus on you and make yourself happy.

This happened with my friend group. They more or less pushed out the guys who stayed single, especially against renters in the group once house values went up. It's so sad. I was pushed out once my relationship ended and I started dating younger women. lol Oh well! I got my travels, hobbies and live a pretty low-stress life. I will never do the comparison game or keep up with the Joneses. I'm not too good for a dive bar and could care less what people think. I might be the only one left from my group who thinks this way, but at least I stood for something.

Part 2 - Fast forward to the friends getting screwed in family court, no access to their kids because of false allegations, lost all their money in divorce, high blood pressure from work, sitting in a bedsit or worse. One is still married but has an addiction from years of emotional abuse. Wojak meanwhile made peace with his situation. He even got disciplined. He eventually met someone, but on his terms. He still has time to game. His life wasn't ruined. He no longer misses those friends. Maybe he'll even have kid... the sun sets and he feels content, inner peace. It ain't over till it's over, friends.
