It's not like the employees at the tire shop are experts in all things tire related anymore. I bet most of them don't even know how to install a tube. The ones that do would most likely poke a hole in it anyway. In today's world you're better off doing things yourself.

@Lumnah Acres , Al , California will get the rains during November , December and January. And then , because of the wildfires and the lack of vegetation , they will have mudslides. It's the normal California weather cycle. With the rain , the brush ( mostly tumbleweeds ) will grow profusely , and begin to dry out in March with the fire season starting again in mid-April. From mid-April to mid-November it will be hot with little to no rain. The winter rains will come down as snow in the mountains ( mountains that are thousands of feet higher than the New Hampshire mountains ) which will begin to melt in late February/March thus creating flash floods which can take out bridges in the valleys. I personally know of three bridges that were taken out while I lived in southern California. None of these things are ever mentioned in the ads that promote California. Most of the photos that you see that show a green California were taken in Feb. / March . Not during the summer as would be normal in New Hampshire.

If you have a bead that's hard to break, place the base of a jack at the edge of the rim and jack up your truck. The weight of your truck should pop the bead off. Some times it takes a couple of tries. An old style bumper jack works great for this...if you can find one. Harbor Freight sells a cheap bead breaker (92961) that works. I've used mine on my 15" truck rims and my ATV rims...and their tire irons (93230, 61603) aren't to bad either.

Good morning Al, Gina and Olivia. Nice video on fixing the tire. It's 39°F. Here in Sunny Valley, Oregon; that soup looks delicious. I'm making oatmeal for my wife and I for breakfast. She is lactose sensitive, so I use apple cider instead of milk for cooking it. Have a great week.

My fella changes his Motocross tyres every year... Costs him £1000 for two tyres.... The fun part is getting them off without scratching the rims..... The hard part is getting on the new ones that have never been flexed and stretched. I help him out hold the bars in place while he goes around the rim... The inner tubing is usually easy. Start where your valve goes in 1st. Becareful not to tear the valve off when you do it. Personally I hate helping him out as I've nipped my skin and fingers many times... Good job Al.... Yummy food again Gina 👌🏼❤️🤗

Les Schwab Tire Center put a plug in mine for free. Works great. Maybe you don't have a Les Schwab near you... oh yeah I see they are only in the Pacific NW. Oh well. You did a great job.

My son used to work at Tire Barn, and he hated it when people used Fix a Flat. They even charged extra if the tire had slime in the tire. Pork and Chops look really good. I'm guessing they will weigh 245-280#. I'm excited to see how much meat you get from them. Are both pigs for you, or does some of the meat go to other family members? I make homemade egg noodles, but no butter, and minimal working of the dough. The more you work the dough, the tougher the noodles get. And I don't measure anything. It's a recipe that I learned how to make by feel. Lol. I cook the old fashion way. P.S. dried noodles freeze very well.

When I get a flat on any Vehicle I have a "all day"..... Check all - all tyres - all fluids - all grease nipples - all hoses - all belts - all universal joints - all pivot/pinch points - all lights - all electrics (like tow plugs).... then I order any parts and/or spares. I've found a 30c bolt and a 1hr welding repair that saved me a $10,000 replacement part on an expensive loader !! My motto " If it hits the shop - It only leaves 100% "

10 for effort bud but zero for research bud. Tyres always best left to the guys with the equipment and warranty their job. Especially forklifts and tractors. You were taking Gina's car there anyway ol' mate. Love the vids

Goooood Mawnin' Al! Mmmmmm, home made egg noodles can't get better than that! Do you know if you can get tube installed in auromotive tires? I've been told that tire shops won't do it anymore but I'm not sure if it's because there are laws about it? I'm in NY. .

Willow has a unique way of greeting you in the mornings Al. Loved seeing the dance party in the kitchen. Noticed the 'boys' are growing their Winter coats. Any plans to adding a pond over in that part of the pasture that seems wet all the time? The ducks would love it! I just love hearing you say, "Good Morning Modern Steaders". Makes my day. Blessings

After years of repairing mower, motorcycle, 4x4 truck, tractor and car tires, Ive learned a few tricks. Sprinkle baby powder on the new tube before installing. Also add just a little air to the tube before installing to reduce the chances of pinching the tube. Use Windex for bead lube. Ive learned, if youre struggling with the tire/tube, youre doing something wrong. Tire repair is like a Zen thing.

I think that second nut was for the inside rim, for locking the rim and the stem together, but it prolly doesn't matter too much. Also, I hope that when you eventually need to change that tube, the Fix-a-Flat hasn't permanently GLUED the tube inside to the rim AND the tire....

Chicken noodle & dumplings tomorrow... I wonder if those noodles would make a mess in your instapot, if you were to make spaghetti again. Or fettuccine Alfredo...

Normally I would break the bead & roll it to the outside of the rim & then blow any debris out thoroughly. Next I take a rag & run it inside the tire, if it snags, more often than not it is a apple thorn. Typically that is where I get my flats from on my property here in n. central VT. on both my riding mower & the big tractor... If U don't check for a thorn or remove any floating debris beforehand, U will puncture the new inner tube in all eventualities & start the process all over again & your new tube now gets a patch or (2). I learned this lesson the hard way years ago now... :~( This tire should have been completely removed from the rim & both thoroughly wiped cleaned of the sealant & is the perfect time to check for thorns using a rag. That is my tire lesson for the day... Don't forget Al, " never-seize " those threads, not the seats, just the threads... :~) Bill on the Hill...

Just heard a Facebook messenger ding and looked at my phone to see who it was. Then I was like, wait, was that in the video? Rewind... Yup, sure was. Funny. I don't think I've ever heard his phone ding before. Must usually have it in silent and forgot today?
