@@USCCAOfficial I just saw a commercial from your organization talking about how you do not have the right to open carry in Florida you absolutely do just like you had the right to conceal carry anywhere in any single state it is your right as a person to bear armaments armaments was a term to describe cannons back in the day which were the most powerful military equipment that they had so in translation from what the Constitution says every single person has the right to the best military equipment including nuclear weapons! The Constitution is the supreme law of the land any law that comes in conflict with the Constitution is to be treated as null and void! Also the Constitution is treated like a contract and when it comes to contract wall the person that did not create the contract or write up the contract has all discrepancies in their favor! The Constitution said nothing about having to conceal or open carry it just says you have the right to bear arms that means in every single way shape and form including every single piece of land in America including Banks and schools! A lot of people do not know their legal rights you do not try to fight anything in the lower courts... the people who win win on appeal. In other words if you have money then you can win if you don't then screw you peon!

Yeah right, it is really hard in such situations to do the right thing. I mean critical thinking stops for most people at this moment, when a gun is drawn all you think is to survive, so you have to train your self to process those situations even by only watching videos. Having a gun is one thing but using it is the other and training is probably arround 90%. I life in Germany and here it is even harder as a gun owner, i cannot carry a gun but i can defend my home but even in that cases where someone is breaking into your home you have to think about thousands of possible scenarios. But yeah if i am really 100% sure that my life or the life of someone i love is in danger i would shoot.

This was awesome. Staged or not, that is closer than most people will be to a violent scenario like this. It was cool to hear Colion's thought process and see how he reacted knowing how well trained he is. His indication of how there is a lot more out of your control than you think, even with all the training is definitely eye opening.

Yes and no. He at one point reacted by reaching for his firearm but hesitated, indicating to the robber that he had a gun. The robber could've easily shot and killed him. So in that regard Colin made the mistake which could've cost him his life. Never draw from the drop, wait for your opportunity. Sometimes there is no window of opportunity and you have to comply.

I stopped video at 5 min 15 sec to say, most gun laws are made to do just this! make any one with a firearm not want to use it even if you are morally right, not to use it at all! The use of force with a firearm is so narrow to use it legally and the timing in which you are lawfully permitted is just absurd! I believe this to be by design. In short most gun laws are made to do 1 thing to a law abiding citizen, make them a felon in order to take away their constitutional right to bear arms!

Having reviewed many hours of YT videos as part of preparation for a variety of possible self/3rd party defense scenarios, this video is, in my mind, hands (and guns) down the best of the best. Watching Colion as he interacted with perps and bystanders in a very real world setting, with all of its unavoidable messiness and multiple moving parts, was very instructive. The opportunity to review each scenario in the presence of an articulate prosecutor & defense attorney is priceless. If Colion, as a respected, practiced and knowledgeable 2A advocate, can gain new perspective from this, the impact this has on the average viewer interested in legal defense is that much greater. First scenario: Utah is a stand-your-ground state, meaning there is no duty to retreat. So just because the GF made it out the door doesn't mean Colion gave up his right to self defense, or defense of another.

It depends in other states how you articulate. We’re you covering your GF, hoping to escape but things turned deadly too fast? Is your state where you can use deadly force to protect someone you don’t know? There was 4 innocents (assumed) in room yet. Cheater, blue shirt guy behind Colion, Colion, and employee. It might be enough that you were joining with cheater to stop robber without using deadly force. But robber drew, was threat. But some states that’s not going to fly well. So don’t go into details. Run things past Lawyer before details to the Police.

I was a victim in an armed robbery and I can totally relate to Colion's helplessness/anger/frustration emotion. You're so angry but there's nothing you can do. I was unarmed at the time. Maybe for that specific instance, it was a good thing. They only took wallets and jewelry and then left. While they were using guns to intimidate people, it might be argued that they didn't pose a deadly threat. Fortunately it all worked out. No one was hurt and the criminals were later caught. Interesting note: When the investigator asked me to describe the gun the bad guy pointed at me, I told him the man was holding a howitzer. Because when your on the wrong end of a gun, your eyes get wide and all you see it that barrel.

2 attorneys were part of this demo, (Colion Noir and Tom Grieve) and neither one commented that Colion should not have answered the question about how many shots he fired. That's the point of the legal coverage offered by USCCA: Inform the police in the most raw and short sentences that you needed to defend your life against criminal deadly assault. Period. Then inform them that you will cooperate once you speak to your attorney who would coach you about NOT trapping yourself with specific questions like how many shots were fired. Neither attorney saw that; they were too intent on showing Colion the mistake he made without pointing out how to correct it. Kevin representing USCCA should have also caught that.

This was a FILMED staged event, which it's main purpose was to inform us: the viewers. Of course in real life you're not going to say how many shots you fired, if you fired shots, or what your name is because as soon as the "authorities" show up, you STFU until YOUR attorney shows up. But that's what this video, HOPEFULLY, made everyone understand by proving that after a low stress (can you imagine a high stress) fatal situation where you shot some one up, YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THE F YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, so that's why you/me/everyone needs to STFU until your attorney gets there. Remember, LEO gets 72HRS!!! of rest time after a shooting to get "their story" straight for this reason. take a wild guess how many hours we get?!

The prosecutor will not overlook the fact that Colion was wearing a USCCA shirt, a potential clue that Colion was eager to fight, shoot and then defend himself with a "Lawyer in a Box". Takeaway: Don't wear 2nd Amendment shirts, i.e."Protected by John Moses Browning", etc. When carrying concealed wear a Dad or Mom sweatshirt and no 2nd Amendment hats or bumper stickers, etc. Prosecutors get re-elected on percentage of won cases. But isn't "self-defense" ruled out if your act of committing a crime is the underlying cause of the situation? Basically, you go in and are committing a robbery. You cannot, then, claim self-defense if someone draws a gun on you. They would not have drawn, if you weren't committing a crime to begin with. Also, the simple fact that you were in possession of a gun, during the commission of a crime, means it was a deadly-force incident on your part.

He was making verbal demands and escalated to yelling first, you cant shoot someone for verbal threats. This was an interesting scenario because its lose lose, Colion was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Colion either shoots the robber who is acting in self defence and is tried as a murderer or he shoots the other customer in defence of the robber and is either shot by the robber or maybe tried as an accomplice in the robbery.

Under the Texas penal code, using deadly force in "self-defense" is not justified if the person using deadly force is in the act of committing a crime greater than a Class 3 Misdemeanor. In this scenario, the person was committing a 1st Degree Felony; i.e., an aggravated robbery.....a robbery while exhibiting a deadly weapon. Further, a person is justified in using deadly force: when and to the degree the actor reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary: to prevent the other's imminent commission of aggravated robbery. A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect a third person if: the actor reasonably believes that his intervention is immediately necessary to protect the third person.

What about red light incidents and road rage? I had someone follow my neighbor home over a driving incident and he was getting violent and angry. I was just a neighbor. We live in the country. It's like little cottages on a river. So there's a few neighbors. We all watch out for each other. very rare anything happens. But from time time we'll have a small incident. But I feel like road rage and red lights are getting deadly. What about people coming up to your car. Like a few people. Gangs are real.

@LuisB: As a disabled person myself, you pose a valid and thoughtful question. As someone also retired from working in criminal law (defense), my thoughts or response would be as follows: - As a disabled person (specifically with mobility limitations as in your question), the person using, or demonstrating capability to use deadly force would still have his/her actions evaluated by the imminent, deadly threat standard and the “rational, reasonable person” response in viewing the defender’s actions. The disabled person must still demonstrate that at the time he/she employed lethal force it was legally justified by virtue of imminent threat of death or great bodily harm to the defender or a third party. And his/her actions in using deadly force must have been reasonable. (I.e.: bad guy is laying face down after 1-2 rounds, but defender mag. dumps the attacker. A DA or Grand Jury panel is likely to view shots 1 and 2 as reasonable (assuming deadly threat), but discharge of rounds 3-15 as UNreasonable, possibly leading to changes. The disabled status of the defender is part of the totality of circumstances review, which should be done. Obviously a mobility limited, disabled person cannot flee in the same manner as an able bodied individual, and this should be taken into account. It’s not a justification for an otherwise unreasonable use-of-force, but it’s also a factor limiting the disabled person’s/defender’s options, and may mitigate toward a finding that the use-of-force was justified. That’s all just my opinion, based upon the laws in my state and my experiences. Others may disagree and each use-of-force incident, whether LE or civilian should be investigated independently and without bias (in a perfect world anyway). Be well.

Really cool training. I have to say that these random scenarios really make you look at your areas and spaces you enter on daily basis and see them more differently. Personally I look for corners that's a little hidden but I still have a good view of the room. If I can't get where I want then I want to at least have a good view of the door. Not always able too but I try. I remember the story of how wild Bill Hickok was shot in the back.

Although it may feel staged, the adrenaline and muscle memory are very real (which is what tends to get in the way in these incidents). Notice Colion reaching for a non existent mag reload at 1:46. His body thought it was real and that's the most important part I'd say. two cents.

One thing needs to be pointed out for home self defense situations: I've seen people with signs like: "TRESPASSERS WILL BE SHOT -- SURVIVORS WILL BE SHOT AGAIN". If you ever need to shoot somebody in self defense, that sort of sign will never help your case... it can only hurt you.

I keep my head on a swivel and constantly run scenarios in my head in different situations but running them in your head doesn’t compare to this type of training. I would love to do this training course! Training and preparedness is key to survival!!

The problem with running scenarios in your head is, you create a script. Then when something happens that doesn't follow the script, it takes a second to adjust.

I'm watching this for the first time and it's been a year later! I actually conduct similar training as an armed officer in the state of Texas. It's really interesting that we as "law abiding citizens", have to justify our ability to defend ourselves and others, while witnessing a crime or felony. It's been a very real check to me and the other officers I work with on our approach, demeanor, and conduct even when the aggressive situation has been placed on us! Thanks for this video and I would love to see more!

As a long time gun owner, I believe to possess sufficient training and I am aware of my 'level of 'skill' with handling, [accuracy and safety]. I've had dreams of "what if" and "how I would react if" **imagine a situation where I chose to stop the threat of imminent danger to my partner... I actually broke out into tears after hearing Colion's recount of his thoughts and emotions..... I cried really hard I'm 63 yrs old and treasure, respect, and train to 'deserve' owning my hand guns. BUT truly in my heart hope I never have to experience play possum or save my partner's [or appropriately any other person] life. Thank you for a Frightening refresher of what my Dad instilled in me 50 yrs ago when I first fired a weapon. "Fire your weapon at someone and the danger might stop...but for you everything has just begun". "Know what you're doing when there's no time to think twice"

This is worth saying since they already talked about how important to count your shots accurately but it's also important skill for a skilled gunfighter because not knowing when you're out of bullets will get you killed!!

Very well thought out and very well done. It was very interesting and informative. Yes a gun in hand is a very effective tool but the most powerful tool you have is your mind because the ability to process what is happening and be able to make a split second judgement call is what it boils down to. I got so many chills in the 2nd scenario when colion hopped up and defend his lady and closed the distance between himself and perp. It was so well done! When it comes to human reaction so much can happen especially with adrenaline going.

I haven’t listened to your answer yet but my answer is when a person fears on immediate danger that would result in harm to themselves or their loved ones, or their abode. This could include a stranger if you are certain the person in danger is the good guy. For me personally the point I would be in danger might be before someone else would be. I am female, in my 60s, overweight, with bad knees and a heart condition, so running very far at all is not a valid option for me.

It used to be that most reasonable people (jurors) intrinsically knew right from wrong. Nowadays you’ve got to account for every breath you take in order to defeat the popular bias that the defender is the bad guy and the perp is the victims. What a world of madness we live in. I say that 80% of our population is literally not sane, if you define sanity as the ability to think and process rationally.

My main thought on the "shooting in the back" issue is that as a soldier, I recognize that tactical repositioning to better cover and/or concealment is a smart tactic. The "bad guy" was still mobile and still armed, and therefore not down or out of the fight. For all Colion knew, even if he had recognized the guy had turned his back, the baddie could be repositioning to cover and a more tactically advantageous position with intent to re-engage. THat's where my tactical mind goes, so as long as he is still armed and mobile, he has NOT IN ANY WAY been neutralized as a threat. If he had dropped his gun and run, 100% different story.

This was, hands down, the best educational video I've seen in the gun community!!!!!!! I watch a hand full of gun community KZbin channels, and found this to be even better than the cc video break downs. This would be a very helpful series with different guests from the gun community, like Donut Operator as a former officer, or Matt from demoRanch as a private citizen gun enthusiast , just to see the different mind set when caught is these scenarios. Colion is one I greatly respect and follow. Scenario one, I believe one verbal command of "drop it" would have justified his actions 100% where in the scenario it was "questionable". And one more thing I learned...if asked how many rounds you fired, answer : "I don't know" ! Scenario number 2......perfect job Colion! I would have done the same! Great job USCCA and Colion! Keep up the great videos! I share these with my wife as she is just learning to carry and no matter what your level of experience, we all need to train more.

I would love to have some training like this. I have always had the mindset that I know exactly what I would do. Realistically, there are sooooo many things going on and its happening fast. I was trained under the USMC manual that states one of the six justifiable uses of deadly force is to prevent or interrupt serious offenses against others. Regardless of the intent for taking the woman with them, it can be reasonably assumed to have been a serious threat to her person.
