According to Bischoff, most of the wrestlers on Victory Road already left or got out of their gear. As well as due to the short time they had to improvise (Bishoff stating how he had to improv on the spot and cut a promo while simutainously informing the ref and Sting of the situation). So with Eric's word, it seems like they really couldn't come up with a better way to try and save the match with lack of enough resources to pull it off. He even said Dixie had a lost puppy expression during the ordeal.

Jeff Hardy first title should’ve been the X Division Title I feel like if Hardy held that title first and became further established it would’ve helped his career greatly in Total NonStop Action Wrestling.A feud with Styles would’ve been great to see during 2004 and 2005 and even have a feud with Christopher Daniels.Hardy later setting his intentions on the TNA World Title would’ve been the better move after his X Division Title.Hardy and Christian Cage could have a feud for the TNA World Title which would’ve seen Hardy end the reign of Cage in a ladder match.Jeff Hardy would leave TNA during the Christmas of 2006 where he would return back to WWE on the Christmas edition of RAW to attack Edge and Randy Orton and team up with Matt Hardy to face Rated RKO for the World Tag Team Titles.Jeff Hardy would return back to TNA in 2009 and would set his sights back on the TNA World Title which would see Hardy win the title by defeating Sting in the main event after delivering a low blow to Sting and perform a Twist Of Fate and Swanton Bomb to win the belt but at the end of the match Hardy would wash the paint from his face and would hold the TNA World Title over the exhausted body of Sting.

I love this run, the promos, the segments, the theme song, even the mannerisms. I feel like there is similarities between him and Romans current heel run, and I wouldn't be surprised if Roman got advice from Jeff. It's a shame that that it ended the way it did, but the long year and a half redemption storyline that lead to him winning the world title ended up being a good storyline. Also go look at the be there or be triangular promo it's HILARIOUS.

I think an issue with this heel turn is not Jeff himself but the fact there was no other guy, save Anderson who was building momenttum as the opposing hero character. I feel this could have been AJ Styles since he's a homegrown star in TNA and is just as athletic as if not more than Hardy. Definitely could have built momentum for a PPV. Or like you put it, a triple threat between him, Sting and Anderson.
