A viewer corrected me on the PL-7s fuse time. I had assumed that the PL7 was a complete copy paste magic 1. It is in all aspects, EXCEPT fuse delay. It does not share the 1.8s fuse delay of the magics that I hate so much, it’s .5. With this new information, I change my opinion on the 2 missiles and I would rather use the PL7s over the PL5B

Maybe, but 9Ms are so slow that it shouldn’t really be noticeable. It’s an issue on the magic because it’s way faster so it covered more ground while still not being armed

Worth noting that the 2+2 loadout is definitely worth running over the 4x PL-5 loadout. The only advantage PL-5 has over the PL-7 now is range and its advantage only picks up after 4-5 seconds or so; notice how all of the kills in this video were within that. On the other hand, PL-7 is vastly more agile at close range giving it a much wider useful "cone" off your nose, the fuse timer is a non issue, and there is no real downside to taking two of them.

It’s worth noting that this is only 2 matches, and it’s not enough data to consider that these shots are also within the magic envelope, meaning they’re both equally viable in any situation. They’re simply not and if you played the game more and got into dogfights without dying in 10 seconds you’d probably notice that. PL5s not only have more range but are also superior at close range because they don’t have a dogshit 1.8s fuse that makes it literally impossible to get kills with in dogfight scenarios

A quick PSA for new players who wish to buy the J-7. Keep in mind that the 11.0 bracket places you in direct contention with the American F4 phantom. If you are at high altitude, and see an F4 turn towards you. Do not go head on with it, this is the F4's ideal Aim-7 engagement condition. And it WILL shoot you in the face from 15-20 km away.

Kfir Cannard went from being one of the most fun planes to play to, just painful, you still can beat people in 1v1s, but you have 2 AIm-9Gs in mostly 12.3 lobbies where one of the teams dies before you even get into position, and while I was always for increasing the F-5C's br, but like... WHAT, 11.0 with AIM-9E when you have the F-5E at the SAME BR and the one with 4 all aspect missiles at 11.3?

i bought kfir canard last christmas season, i feel like i was rip off by gaijin. It is aaalways uptiered facing all aspect missiles and SARH missile. Feels like it is only good for base bombing now until it is shot down 😂

Honestly, what I would do is get A-5C instead on a discount (It's boring to fly yes but it can do quite well) if you're starting the Chinese air tree. Then I suggest getting J-7E + talisman. You'll get a much better experience grinding out top tier with it, especially if it remains at its current battle rating. J-7E is miles above the J-7D in terms of flight performance and can even compete with the 4th gens in that regard on low fuel.

I've been having way more succes in the chinese F5E then the J7E for some reason (although the J7E is absolutley amazing in sim and way more fun there Imo) I'm not sure if it's just me but I much prefer the F5E for rb (although If anyone is thinking of getting a talisman for either jet it would probably be worth taking it out for at least a couple flights just to be sure you like it) either way dont take anything I've said as actual advice it's just my opinion also I had never played an F5 before I played the F5E so It's not like I didn't want to play it because it was copy paste etc.

new BR pretty much killed J35xs kfir F4EJ and F104S ur using 9Js and 9Gs to battle AIM9Ls and AIM7Fs and all of this plane got some kind of performance nerf or will be nerfed in up coming updates

@@DzinkyDzink yes when kfir is in 10.7 its the most overpowered thing in that br but since it got booted up to 11.3, with only 36 cm and you have to bring about half chaff,and the nature of the plane is low speed dogfight,theres alot of the time i will ran out of flares.when its in 10.7 i can just bring flare only

Yes! I've been saying for years that the J7D needs to be at a BR between the SMT and Bis. I got it years ago to grind china because i like the MiG21 playstyle and was frustrated it was always the same BR as the Bis. Now it sits right between the Bis and SMT and really feels good there. To bad they'll probably raise it's BR when the J7E inevitably goes up. Gaijin tends to think the two need to be at the same BR for some reason.

@@rastaboy_gamesnstuff7778 9M's work best side aspect because the way their irccm is set up rear aspect flares tend to cause the seeker to momentarily turn off but in side aspect they usually dont even get seen, while stuff like r73 and magic2 are best rear aspect because their irccm is just low fov and doesnt shut off the seeker

It depends on what br your playing ig, but it does seem that 11.0 11.3 gets uptiered very often to 12.0 and 12.3 where the F4S and new f14 are, thats just my expirience tho. I am currently spading the chinese F5E and i havent been having much trouble at 12.0 but i am sure if youre playing worse stuff it would be hell.

This game is implemented completely wrong, gaijin fucked up really hard. IRL the rwr and radar are from the 90s and it has much better missile loadout. They need to fix this because it's just wrong in game, not slightly wrong either, completely wrong. J8B also has the wrong radar (IRL it has pulse-doppler mode) and J7E can have IRCCM missiles IRL. Please complain to Gaijin, the China update came and they missed fixing the really wrong stuff in the tech tree.

@@contemptordreadnought well i play the lazur-m, which is the same plane but premium, and i really do not enjoy it at all. the r60ms are extremely flare hungry and the cannon is really hard to aim and after 300 matches in the thing i still couldnt get used to aiming it. it really should be lower in BR in my opinion since the R3R you have is useless since your radar is really shit, and the all-aspect capability of your r60ms is nullified by a singular flare drop. So you get the same plane at a higher br than the plane pictured in this video for no real reason.

@@Lovi07 1. The mig 21 bis has a stronger engine than the J7D 2. The R13m1 exists (take 2) 3. Fly high and shoot down on people with the r13m1s from range and then get down on the deck and rope people into dogfights / missile unaware people with the r60s. 4. Nearly every missile that isn't Irccm or in full rear aspect with a hot target is flared by a single flare.
