Acceptance is within oneself, along with many other things, forgiveness, esteem etc.. If people want to do whatever with whomever and not include you, you have to accept that it is what it is regardless of your hurt feelings. In other words let them, let them do whatever, with whomever for whatever, even if it hurts you personally. Make peace with that for yourself and move on from it. That's a good follow up or part 2 to "let them" Once you let them be, believe what you now see is the truth. That it's the real person behind any masks since they likely think your non-intervention or non-protest is a sign of agreement or just weakness from you when it's really just the beginning of stepping away from the situation/person to gain a wider perspective and maybe also the beginning of permanently removing yourself from an unhealthy or even dangerous situation or person.
@Natalie-lf7hb2 ай бұрын
Without a clear answer on the motivation it is just guessing. And filling in blanks to ease your own mind. If you want to know for sure then have the courage to ask instead of assumptions. If it is important enough for you to get to the truth. If you like assumptions better then the truth it is also an option. But believing assumptions to be true is rarely accurate. The world is filled with assumptions which seem to be preferred by many instead of thinking for ourselves. But by constantly assuming, we are less likely to get to know our inner authentic self. Which is worth getting to know if you ask my opinion. Have a nice day!

Yes, me too at 65. Letting is letting go. Sometimes in life, when you exhibit that degree of independence, others have a problem with that. I am referring to people you deal with every day; where you live, work, or go to school. This is a harder situation to navigate and get support with. Letting other people go works if others let you be too and not try to control you.

I don't let any one control me. I'm just no longer available to them because they are not my type of people. I'm closed off and distant. I can't control others but I can control who I allow into my close circle. That does not mean I am rude to then, I'm treat them as I would a stranger.

Yes to this! It reminds me of the poem Let Them by Cassie Phillips ❤ Just Let them. If they want to choose something or someone over you, LET THEM. If they want to go weeks without talking to you, LET THEM. If they are okay with never seeing you, LET THEM. If they are okay with always putting themselves first, LET THEM. If they are showing you who they are and not what you perceived them to be, LET THEM. If they want to follow the crowd, LET THEM. If they want to judge or misunderstand you, LET THEM. If they act like they can live without you, LET THEM. If they want to walk out of your life and leave, hold the door open, AND LET THEM. Let them lose you. You were never theirs because you were always your own. So let them. Let them show you who they truly are, not tell you. Let them prove how worthy they are of your time. Let them make the necessary steps to be a part of your life. Let them earn your forgiveness. Let them call you to talk about ordinary things. Let them take you out on a Thursday. Let them talk about anything and everything just because it’s you they are talking to. Let them have a safe place in you. Let them see the heart in you that didn’t harden. Let them love you. Yes! This is taught in the book “Codependent No More” and highly recommend people to read up on codependency which is next level people pleasing of things you try to control, difficulty expressing your needs directly, obligating oneself to things you would of said no to, building resentment over things you don’t speak up about, and so on.

So very true❣️❣️❣️ Man I lived a lot of years stressing over things others did and said that I thought affected me. Turns out I like living the “let them” life better! ❤️🥰💕 Thank you for being so inspirational pretty lady!

Such practical advice-and articulated so well. 🔥👏🏼👍🏼The rejection is even more painful when it’s so-called “family,” but you’re absolutely right. I’m so glad I know now, I’ve let them go, and I can move on and do what’s best for me. And just as you said, for once I stood still long enough to finally see their true character. I’d been fooling myself all my life. My heart wouldn’t let me accept what my mind always knew, but that’s in the past. The whole bittersweet experience taught me that there’s 𝙙𝙚𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙮 a distinction between relatives and family.

Agree. In order to get someone to reveal who they truely are , i dont set any boundaries and watch what they do with that freedom. They will be themselves . Priceless knowledge right from the outset .

Very true. Soon as i stopped making effort they revealed the true them & I haven’t spoken in weeks… Sad thing is I seem to have No one. It’s a lonely world 😢

More people will come back into your life, ask on here and people will stay in touch. This can lead to new friendships. ❤️💋

I grew out of this in my 30s. Especially after I had my first baby. I don't even need a group of people or friends filling up my precious time that I spend listening to podcasts and learning!

Rejection is very painful. Try to do something you enjoy to get your mind off it. Listening to music, walking or watching comedy…maybe reading or art. Just something you enjoy or be around people that accept you. I understand your hurt as I broke ties with my identical twin sister and I was deeply hurt but as time passes it doesn’t hurt as much it’s been several years and my focus has changed. I wish no ill will, but i am no longer consumed with toxic negativity that was mentally, physically and emotionally exhausting me. ….LET THEM!!! When one door closes, one door opens!!! Find your tribe!
