You're absolutely right. They play games when dividing the assets. I took 6K out of savings to set up housekeeping when I moved out. That went into my column, they then put $2,500 for the value of all the things in the house that I left and would lose in the divorce. And after I got my "half" I had to pay her lawyer fees and her dental bills of 5K out of my half and 95K in alimony. I got divorced in 1987, you can at least double those figures in today's, dollars.

@devilsoffspring55192 жыл бұрын
Nonsense, they all did otherwise they wouldn't have gotten married. The only exception was when a girl got married very young, and by "very young" I don't mean 18 or 20, I mean more like 13 or 14. A "traditional" woman just didn't brag about her sex life, that's all. They had plenty of it otherwise no guy would have ever married them. That includes the stuffy, pretentious Catholic ones :)
@Norm4752 жыл бұрын
That is not true. I am 80 and most women had sex before marriage. The difference was you usually had to give them the ring first and they certainly didn't screw on the first or second date. I don't think women were more moral in those days, it was the fear of pregnancy that kept more women chaste.
@devilsoffspring55192 жыл бұрын
@@Norm475 I'm half your age and agree with you, except for the ring part. There's no way a man will entertain the idea of marrying a woman who won't have sex with him, just like a woman won't marry a man with no income (unless he's already very wealthy and just living off his existing wealth.)

I once met a dude who had a family in another state and a new family near my house. He came over with the boys one day and said it's not fair you have all the toys. I often wondered if he eventually figured it out. Hopefully his boys did. I always liked the idea of family, but realised 30 years ago it was never going to happen the way I wanted. I held off long enough to learn from others, then noticing and even hearing I wasn't needed sealed the no deal for me. Now in a financial disaster we'll see how long we all last living in our own castles, because we never needed anyone!

My girlfriend of 4 years asked the other week "Would you rather that I need you, or want you?" I don't remember the context of the conversation, or the exact wording, but that was the gist of it. And it made me think, in an ideal world I would rather that you be with me because you want to AND that you will ALWAYS want to. But since you don't need me and our "wants" can change over time, there is nothing binding you to me like there was when women needed men for survival. So it just solidified to me what I've discussed with her before in that legal marriage is just not going to happen under these laws. So we're all really in a tough spot. Men don't want to marry because we're not needed and because of that the woman has no tangible reason to stay, and women don't want to marry because they don't need men. And this is a problem for anyone that wants children, as women usually wont let you raise your children without marriage.
@sodone4662 жыл бұрын
"and women don't want to marry because they don't need men" This statement is not true. Fee-males very much want to marry after they turn 30 and they can't ride the CC anymore. And they're not looking for a guy to spend the rest of their life with. Just marry long enough to be able to D-grape him, and win all the cash and prizes, and then move on to the next host. "There is no wisdom in signing a contract with someone who benefits from breaking it."

A couple months later I meet her dad's side of the family. She says are you ready to marry into this family?...just kidding I'm not trying to pressure you. Her family was rude to me for no reason so I left the get together early with her. In a couple days she goes from are you ready to marry me to I'm questioning your role in my life to ending things. I guess it's a good thing I waited. If I would have married her a few months in would she just be divorcing me now? If she loved me why would she leave if she really wanted to spend her life with me. I guess it was just her being desperate in her 30s

Most women still do actually need a man. Primarily because 85-90% of all women don't make enough to obtain anything more than the basics in life. Sure, if they're okay living near paycheck to paycheck with a small apartment and economy car, then I guess they don't need men, but if they want anything beyond the bare minimum, most won't achieve that on their own.

My husband makes $175/hour doing financial analysis in divorce cases. Cappy has had time value of money problems. Figuring the present value of future pension payments, medical benefits, etc. Right now discount rates are incredibly low. So the PV of a dollar of pension that has a cost of living adjustment tied to the CPI in the year 2082 is still 80 cents. These divorce settlements on pension benefits are catastrophic as a consequence. We have a 48 year old colonel that has to come up with $1.1 million to the wife, just for the pension alone. He's probably going to keel over when he sees the report, so he might not have to borrow the money to write the check.

Sadly, I was one of the diehard blue pilled chumps, and it took divorce and almost evacuating my meatsuit to wake me up. Realizing the truth of the world HURTS, but like touching a hot stove, that pain is necessary to make it stick in your head. Men have everything to lose in marriage, that's why we fight so hard to preserve it, women have everything to gain from ending a marriage and that's why they don't care. THAT is the ugly truth of it, accept it and roll the dice, or accept it and build a life on your own where everything is yours.
