Yeah, it’s more fair to say that he’s the deuteragonist/rival. His story completely parallel’s light, his is both introduced and shown to be a person with similar and sometimes even superior deductive skill than light, and he actually ended up almost winning extremely early in the series (if only light wasn’t able to get rem to kill L). Amazing character.

I liked Yami at 1st (Helps that he's voiced Junichi Sawabe & Christopher Sabat), but do you know what *really* shot Yami up to Top 5 for me in Black Clover? Yuki Tabata based Yami Sukehiro off of his Mangaka Mentor, Toshiaki Iwashiro, who also created the *criminally underrated* Psyren manga. As a dude that loves that manga, owns every volume of it physically, and holds on to hopium that Psyren gets an anime adaptation *SOMEHOW* made me appreciate Yami more than I already did (Still not my #1 though, that honor belongs to Luck!). 0:29-0:51 I don't care *WHO* it is, I will defend Gakuto Kajiwara with my dying breath, Shaman! Yeah he started off kinda rough, but let's just ignore that this was the dude's *1st ever VA role.* We really can't give the guy some slack for this? And considering this dude got other roles like Shinra (Fire Force), Ced (FE4/H), and Tadano (Komi-san) to name a few in the future, I still feel like this was just humble beginnings here.
