If one twin knocked the other unconscious, then drove to, and committed, said crime... then they could probably argue that only one of them is guilty. Which would mean the the imprisonment of the guilty would also be of not only an innocent person, but also a victim. We don't really care about that here normally, but imagine the shitshow of a supreme court case that would lead to... Sounds like the perfect get out of jail free card to me lol

@TheBestDog even if the one twin snitches, conjoined twins are still stuck together. So if one goes to jail, both go to jail. Sending a person who has been proven innocent to jail is illegal. Because they are conjoined, this case would be even more high profile than the current CEO case. This leads us to quandary: how do you punish the one without punishing the other, as they are recognized as two, distinct individuals, because they both, individually, are have consciousness. You would be stripping the one of their human rights, OR you would be letting one essentially get away with a very serious crime. The only way they can imprison both is if they can prove that the other twin was complicit. But if that twin is unconscious for the drive there as well (and does not help in the planning), then he cannot be held criminally liable. I think the closest they could get is house arrest under the condition that the "criminal twin" is not allowed to make any of the decisions when it comes to leaving the house. The twin who was unconscious essentially becomes the criminal twin's jailer. I don't think they could legally force the twins to be surgically separated for a prison sentence. Though there would also be legal issues with forcing such a responsiblity on a family member you are physically inseparable from. If the snitch twin does any crime at all, however, then they would both serve the time of the snitch twin.
