MBT saying "I'm going to tell you a level 7 story" like he's making fun of it when that's pretty much exactly what that game seemed to be; trying to tell spooky/ scary stories proportional to the monster's level. Jaden's "mid level scares for a mid level card" comment about Syrus' story for earthbound spirit (level 4), Jaden drawing a level 1 and telling them about how as a kid he used to hear his cards chatter when he'd try to sleep, and Banner drawing a level 12 which he uses as an excuse to exposit about the abandoned dorm which directly leads into the introduction of shadow games back into the series, as well as establishing an outline for how people who weren't part of DM's main cast understand/ think about the millennium items.

Atem literally rigged the situation to ensure that the guy with the gun would end up killing himself from combustion caused by the combination of alcohol, gun recoil, and the cig lit. Atem was so evil in that Yugioh era. He ends up saving Yugi's friends multiple times in that season, but does some super evil stuff to those who targeted Yugi's friends. You have more minor stuff of his acts, like secretly dealing a penalty towards I think a teacher, without her knowing it, that was trying to find excuses to get Yugi's friends in trouble, and the price she paid was having her makeup shattered, interrupting her efforts. To more major acts of evils of straight up killing some characters in a Shadow game. Actually, out of all of Yugi's friends in the season 0 era of the manga, I think Anzu was the most common one among Yugi's friends who were the victims of the evil people Atem punished. Which makes sense, because before Yugi made more friends, Anzu was Yugi's only friend. Granted, I haven't read a huge portion of the manga, but I recall Anzu being the most common one getting targeted by evildoers that Atem punishes. Sorry, I talked too much didn't I?

Go Rush is about how societal repression and denial of the self perpetuate cycles of isolation and lashing out against others. Every character aside from Yudias believes they are a fundamentally broken person unworthy of love, so they hyperfixate on the emotion/state of being they believe is closest to love that even someone such as they may achieve. For Nyandestar, this is the sensation of looking at someone with both sympathy and rage, for Manabu it is the sensation of having his intellect and his place within a clearly defined hierarchy validated, for Yuna it is being in a relationship of roleplay where she can experience partnership and express her desires for someone without ever being vulnerable, etc. It is also an outrageous comedy, with both excellent slapstick and a tar-black, cynical sense of humor that would make you think Larry David was hired as a consultant. @@johannamegido8465 no overselling done. That's the show and I love it. The show has a lot of really engaging themes, and I love the character writing. I really do think that just about every character in Go Rush is defined by their quest for a phantom of an emotion they have deemed "close enough" to love, and I think that strong sense of motivation ties into much of the show's themes and satire, and it makes the comedy all the more hilarious. Episode 106, featuring Nyandestar VS Bluayre, is full of pitch-black comedy that makes me laugh at the absurd reality that this card game commercial for children is willing to go this dark and this explicit, and how this makes so much of the setting and the character relationships slide into place, as much as the jokes themselves do. Manabu trying to throw Nyandestar under the bus so the two of them can be sister-wives in a MILF harem is such a damning insight of his character and it fits perfectly with everything we already know about him.

I’m pretty sure TheJWittz did a video of a real life dungeon dice monsters board game. I remember playing dice master from wizkiz. It was fun, but they had a messed up rule about the yugioh edition. Normally you can use the common dice with your super rare card. So you only have to pull one copy of the super rare for your team in the game and have multiple dice for it. In the yugioh edition, they printed series numbers on the dice as a nod to the numbers on yugioh cards. So now you need to pull multiple copies of the super rare or you can only play with one die if you put the super rare on your team.

Some of my favorites of 'alternate games' is the original action/entertainment duels from before the timeline split in Arc-V (which sounds even more stupid when I type it out). The idea of playing Yugioh BUT with the caveat that the players are involved as part of the sport without it being a demonic shadow game is interesting. Which leads me to another idea, this appears in MULTIPLE places, GX's dimension hopping sections comes to mind, I remember seeing it in Zexal when they were crossing to Sargaso, but the idea remains the same- The monsters are real, and there's several of them, so instead of playing yugioh against them, they just summon their big monsters and have them actually fight, no ATK points, no abilities, no summoning conditions, just summon the monster and whoever has the better design (Looks like they'd do better in an actual fight dropping all abilities) wins. I'd love to see this kind of idea expanded, make it so duels aren't turn based, you just summon guys and swing at them while trying to protect yourself with traps- but maybe it does a sort of action duel thing where in order to draw more cards you need to get to a place. I feel like this has some serious potential-
@mr.thekid38272 ай бұрын
Which that second part is actually where I got a super cool idea for a Yugioh Fighting Game- where the monsters are just characters, like Utopia is just a heavy fighter with a sword to give him disjoint and reach. But over the 'duel' you can 'evolve' them, Utopia could turn into Utopia Ray, or Lightning, or any of the like, 2 dozen different things Utopia has become. Maybe Wynn could be one and the spirit gets stronger. Play Silent Swordsman and watch them go from level 3 to level 5 to level 7 through the fight, while the Dark Magician just stays the Dark Magician the whole time. I like this idea a lot really, and I'm not even a big Fighting Game guy!

Last time they did that for the original Yugioh card game was Legacy of the Duelist, to my knowledge. Campaigns in not online only Yugioh games were usually better than that of Master Duel and Duel Links. While it's cool that the Solo mode of Master Duel covers archetype lore, it's not what I'm craving from a singleplayer campaign in a Yugioh game. I want to be able to buy a Yugioh game and not have to rely on an online server and not have to earn Freemium currency just to get the cards I need. I don't care if not every card is in it, I miss the days of non-free to play live service Yugioh games still being made and released

DDM has a sad ending specifically because it wasn't good for a while, but in its final iteration in the U.S. The rules were changed to turn the game into a fun back and forth with less RNG, allowing for multiple die rolls and another method of summoning higher levelled monsters. By the time all this happened, it was too late and DDM was already dead. Now the most accessible way to play the game is the GBA game which has a particularly archaic and boring version of the rules and likely fooled more than a few people into thinking DDM never got better. Capsule Monsters comes in 2 forms. 4kids tried to sell expensive Pokemon checkers, but Takahashi's version played in Season 0 put a lot more stock into the monsters who all hard their own special abilities and all around more things happened more quickly. Not saying the "new" version didn't have potential, but it's weird that there's a perfectly good version of Capsule Monsters already designed by the guy who made Yugioh, and they didn't use it. I'll just say it, Cross Duel. It was a crazy amalgamation of a dozen variants of Yugioh like labyrinth duels, speed duels, etc. One of the coolest things ever done with the brand, but it was a merciless gacha that didn't work on the hardware it was intended for so nobody cared.

They actually played Dungeon Dice Monsters on Team APS! There are cool ideas in the game, but they had to set some house rules to make it flow a little better.

I actually played Dungeon Dice Monsters in real life, monster mini statues with stat cards, dice, heart counters, and different dice paths to put on the board to summon.

I got Dungeon Dice Mondters for GBA. Practically a slot machine for what summons or crests you're gonna get but I like it.

DDM shouldve become its own thing. game was so hype and even getting a full GBA game that never lead into anything else is a tragedy

there is a japanese dub of capsule monsters called "yugioh ALEX" it wasnt even aired but it was made and is lost media (or that could be rumors like neos air, magi magi censor and prize support)

I remember when the Dungeon Dice Monsters arc first aired. I knew just enough about anime from Dragonball Z to conclude that it was a filler arc. Then I read some of the manga and realized that nonsense was canon.

I still think they should make a Yu-Gi-Oh MMORPG. Imagine a Single game with your avatar where you can design houses and make tournaments, play 5Ds Speed Duels, Dice Monsters, Deck Masters.

5:31 I imagine the card’s level determines how scary the story is? Heaven forbid what a level 12 story would be like (I would say 13 but Xyz didn’t exist yet and Ranks are different to levels)

I'm looking to commission a one-shot, shounen manga about a small group of friends, set in a world that is kind of like the Yu-Gi-Oh! world, but instead of everyone's lives revolving around duel monsters, the people who inhabit this world are obsessed with money.

DDM is underrated had the real board game and gba game back in the day. Of course it was simple but still fun.

Destiny Board Traveler was decent too. It just needed more to it. Felt more like a vertical slice they let go gold for some reason.

Dungeon Dice Monsters is ... kinda okay in real life. Sadly since EVERYTHING even movement is dependend on dice throws there were games when somebody can't actually play or do anything usefull. I had a game where i could summon yeah but only got trap or magic symbols which really didn't help. I got 3 starter Sets for cheap at a clearance sale way back in 2010 or so. It also seems that physical versions of the strategy game Monster Chess (based on the PS2 game not the manga / anime version) were also produced and shown at trade shows (according to BGG). THAT would be cool tbh. The Duel Monsters HeroClix is also kinda funny. I mean you can play with Blue Eyes :D

There’s a card game where they play with called dragons block. Each element has 5 dragons level 1-5 and all the elements counter each other. The person who loses get their soul sucked into a jar
