I just used the same SLIME kit on my Model Y yesterday (rear passenger). I had move the car around until the nail was exposed towards the back (5 o'clock position) to remove and plug the tire. I did use the rubber cement that came with the kit. In addition, I did lower the PSI down to 20 or so to be able to get the plug inserted. Even with these pythons for arms, I had to lower the PSI :)

When I plugged mine I deflated the tire to almost empty.

Looks like you did not use any liquid rubber. Thought you usually use that too as part of doing this.

Wasn't suggested on the plug kit, so far repair is holding up well!

Yeah, the glue seems to act more like lube. Makes it better for the…err…in / out as it were.

No mention of glue in the instructions for the plugs. Knock on wood, this repair is working well, took the car on a 250 mile drive yesterday with no pressure loss.

I swear by those plugs too... they have saved me so many times. I have a plug kit and compressor in each of my cars and I have after market tire pressure monitor systems so I know when any tires have a leak. I agree with Mead Man... all of the kits I have ever bought have a tube of rubber glue in it, I recommend you get some rubber glue for next time. Don't buy ONE big tube of glue... buy multiple tiny tubes so you open a new one each time, or they go hard once opened. I don't even take the wheel off, easy to do in place. When is the Y going in to get repaired? Any news on that yet? Your head came out good (haha)
