This was super helpful! I make killer turkeys for Thanksgiving, and have for over 20 years. I decided to switch it up this year and bought a brine kit at Costco last month. Lawd, what did I get myself into? After watching your video, I wish I had waited!!! You made this so simple with easy ingredients! But I’m thinking I might add some of the fresh ingredients you added to my brine kit and give it a whirl. What the heck! Thank you for the tips!

@@OrmsbyFarms well, I have a confession. I didn’t use my brine kit. It had ingredients that I was concerned about that Aunt Lynn can’t have. I didn’t realize it until the night before. Honestly, I was so excited too. Ugh. I even told her why I didn’t brine it. But your recipe is on my bucket list, for real, because the ingredients are fine for her. On a different note, my Turkey turned out great as always. I think I surprised my family (outside of hubby and my kids). They never had any of my turkeys because I never got asked to make one, but I made them for my immediate family for 26 years. Lol. How was your Turkey and Thanksgiving????

So you brine the frozen turkey as it was defrosting? Did the bag leak, because after defrosting there is more water produced from the thawing stage.
@OrmsbyFarms
@OrmsbyFarms Жыл бұрын
Hey! Thanks so much for your comment, it did not leak I did make sure it was in a pan as it was defrosting, but I ALWAYS use a brine bag! They are just built more sturdy!
