Hey guys I have a problem I hope you guys can help me with and it’s whenever I do something in getting hit as in drills or sparring or something I always lose my game plan and just coverup horribly when ever I get so much as fainted can you help me on how to block shots and keep calm
@robbybee705 жыл бұрын
it is a common problem, sparring with responcible partners and regular training will help it go away. if you keep moving and are not a still target that will cut down on most of your opponents punch output which will automatically mean you are spending less time covering up. you can also look up 'Dutch drills' and many people say that helps. you can modify it to just be pure boxing if you need to pretty easily. sidenote, if the reason you are covering up and panicing is that your sparring partners come after you like they want to "win" and get a ko on their gymrecord you just plain need a different gym.

@TheSaneHatter5 жыл бұрын
Agreed: the "bladed" stance that Shane is originally using *would* be called "Square Stance" by a lot of fighters, since the feet actually do form a squarish shape, and the torso is facing forward. "Bladed" would mean something much more turned-to-the-side, in contrast, with the feet more in a line. What they're demonstrating here would be more like a "natural stance" or "horse stance" in many forms of TMA. However, that fact also goes to show you that practicing more fighting from those positions might be wise......

Yeah I agree. I recently started using some Tyson style peekaboo footwork from a squared stance since I'm quick and stocky and I can generate a lot more power on both sides, especially from close range. Also the Muay Thai stance is pretty squared so I dont get that criticism.

Square stance = hooks from hell.
@TheSensibleShooter5 жыл бұрын
How so?
@robbybee705 жыл бұрын
@@TheSensibleShooter so what I have experienced is the biggest factor for the type of stance above is a leveling out of your limbs abilities. so if we are talking about just punches if you keep hooks tight or at least equally tight compared to your own other hook, your lead hook will have better range then your rear hook when you are bladed. and your cross will have more power then your jab. the above mentioned 'square' stance will level out the reach of both of your hooks and will drop your cross down a bit but raise your jab up in power. this will cause your opponent some difficulty as it changes what they are looking at and how things are landing. it is a really good option against a highly defensive minded fighter who is focused on lets say taking away your cross because maybe it's your big money hit, so you change things up on them and now are landing Jabs harder then you were before and giving him a new look at the ranges of your hooks. the above commentary tho the one you were first replying to may have been in reference to Tyson's use of the stance as a transition to set up hooks but he has hard hooks from all stances and both hands so kind of a 'weighted' example if you will....
