I can totally confirm toddlers DO VOMIT like this. And that they usually refuse to even SLIGHTLY aim at the toilet. But it gets better with time. And practice. Lots of practice. 😅

My little sister used to throw her head BACK, and would be looking skyward with vomit running down her cheeks and neck. It was disgusting. She’s 19 now and going to be a Nurse, she’s very smart and tough, but I still think about how she used to vomit.

Hope she doesn't have a hair trigger for vomit anymore. There are specialties the she could pick that are less likely to have an odor. Recovery(PACU), PREOP. Good Luck!

😂 When my son was little like 8 months old we had to take him to emergency because he couldn't hold anything down. As soon as we walked in I asked if they could give him an IV to rehydrate him and was told to take a seat in the waiting room. After an hour of waiting, a doctor came up with a condescending look and rudely asked "Did you think to give him apple juice?" Before I answered, she gave him apple juice and left triage. 20 minutes later she returned and said "See! That's all you had to do!" She squatted down in front of him to take his vitals and he threw up on her chest! I looked at her and asked very deadpan, "So, that's all I had to do?" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

ha I love instant karma.. I went to emergency in the middle of the night when I had an allergic reaction to penicillin. My hands and lips swelled up, I waited for hours and then told the nurse and she said 'why did you come in? you couldve gone to the doctors in the morning' I replied 'my hands and lips are STILL swollen! I know my own hands and lips, these don't look like my hands and lips' She quickly shut up.. I looked like I had lip fillers, how could she think those were my lips?! lol .. also why would I voluntary wait for hours in the middle of the night if I thought it could wait 🙄.. then I was given this pink bubbly liquid and over the course of 30mins - 1hr my hands and lips tingled and slowly got smaller and smaller, such a weird sensation 😄

This reminds me about how a little kid will walk right up to you look at you, open their mouth wide open and cough right in your face. Or the instances where they just come up to you and sneeze on you for no reason.

I actually taught my kids to ‘just vomit, it’s ok, and you’ll feel so much better after’ 😂 makes MUCH LESS mess when they’re calm and know what to do. My 1st kid has severe transportation sickness, so he has his Tupperware ready in the car that he’s used by himself since he was 3yo; he opens it, does his business, cleans himself with wipes, puts everything in and closes it up (it’s spill proof). No mess, no fuss, don’t even need to stop driving. Kids freak out bc they learned to from seeing a freaked out parent, either from the event or mess, they don’t see the difference. Chill out parents, you’ll feel much better after 😜

This is hilarious. Once my daughter was sick and I had to pick her up from a field trip in the middle of the night around 1 AM and she was sick and she asked me to pull over so she could throw up and so I pulled over, opened her door so she could throw up and she threw up right on the window that was rolled up everywhere else inside of the vehicle. I felt bad for her but I was like wtf!! I opened the door and everything. I stopped . We were at a complete stop

My bf’s son projectile vomited on our bed, like the exorcist(while we were all napping together). I grabbed a lil bin held it by him while my bf carried him to the bathroom. Let me tell you how this boy stood there staring at us looking for comfort…. for him to only continue to violently cry and throw up on the floor & himself. 😅Everyone in a fucking panicking. Trying to calmly ask him to “Please turn your head in front of the toilet.” Many times in unison. That toilet stayed clean.😒 But the rest of my apartment wasn’t afforded the same courtesy 😮‍💨

Actually I have a small bin that I take out when my kids are sick and they vomit in the bin. I’ve hardly ever had to clean vomit from anywhere around the house. Vomiting happened the first couple times with my oldest and I said look mama it’s gross and stinky so let’s vomit in the trash so the mattress doesn’t stink. And then all my other kids adopted the habit too. Save for maybe 3x in the night if they woke up to vomit suddenly I haven’t had to clean vomit. My twins are 4 and my youngest is 2 years. So you can definitely teach them to vomit in the trash! Just have to sit them down and explain to them. My poor sister in law- her kids no matter the sickness they always end up vomiting it’s just their bodies responses. But they’ll run across the house vomiting and then she has to deep clean the whole house an imaginable about of times each day 😅. Witnessing this is why I introduced the bin to my kids LOL. I have a weak stomach. I really can’t handle it 😅

There are a surprising amount of things that we do that we don't realize are skills that need to be learned. I distinctly remember being a kid and hating showers because I always felt like I was being waterboarded... I didn't know how to angle my face so I could still breathe while rinsing my head.

I was about 2 maybe 3 years old when I started exclusively throwing up into the trash or toilet. My mom was pregnant with twins and had hyperemesis gravidarum, so I learned early to camp out by the toilet if I felt like stuff was gonna start coming out of my mouth involuntarily. I’m sure the adults and teachers in my life appreciated it lol

😂😂❤. The straight projectile vomiting is how they don’t choke tho. The first upchuck happens with such force, the body angles itself that way so the vomit doesn’t clog the throat and shoot out your nostrils (that can happen). And when they sputter is because vomit can be overwhelming to the senses, not to mention acidic depending on how much it was digested. Washing off is fine tho. Grown adults do this and get overwhelmed, much less kids. As long as they’re not too sick, it’s still funny. She described is accurately.

My kids get car sick, so I’d keep a vomit cup in the car just for that. In the house, a large takeout soup container is a good size. They never miss.

My eldest can vomit on command if he doesnt like what he has to eat - and hes a picky eater. But ive learned the face just before hes about to do it and getting shouted at seems to do the trick every time, sorted

My poor son, his first experience with vomiting was from a nasty stomach flu. He's 5 at the time, autistic, had never thrown up before, was standing in the middle of the living room when all of a sudden 🤮🤮🤮 Poor kid looked at me and was like "what just came out of my mouth?!?" before throwing up again and then bursting into tears.

I happen to come from a family (and have created a family) or pukers. We get car sick. Motion sick. Stomach viruses. I get HG with every pregnancy. Stomach viruses at 2 am are NOT fun. I always say that when your kid can learn to throw up in a bowl instead of their entire car seat or all over their bed, a new age of parenting has begun. lol btw, last night the last thing I did before bed was washing the car seat cover and this morning at 8am I was putting the car seat back together again because #carsickness

As a former child, I can confirm that children are stupid about vomiting. It would always catch me by complete surprise, I somehow instinctively tried to hold back by closing my throat but that only made it come through my nose as well and then that would sting so bad (+ the chunks..) that I’d start crying hysterically. Imagine a snot, tears and vomit fountain standing next to your bed in the middle of the night, it’s a miracle my mom was still willing to risk feeding me whenever I was sick.
