There is a reason why the 80's and 90's models are called the Super Models. The new ones can't measure up to them with all the alterations on their faces and who knows what. But most of all, they don't have that charisma and the aura. They don't have that presence.

These girls are really ‘80’s supermodels who were still huge in the ‘90’s. But the reason these women still stand head and shoulders above the ‘models’ that followed is nobody has either matched or surpassed them. Th hose girls really were something special.

Excellent videos. The 90s supermodels were gorgeous. All exotic in their own way. The fashion industry has always been messed up. The "it" girls of now have more exposure and business opportunities due to social media etc. What irks me is the unrealistic impression young girls believe are real. Botox and fillers on a 25 yr old influencer is sad. Everyone is gorgeous at 25. Different times I guess.

It should have been the big 8 in my opinion. If you remember the naturally beautiful classy blond Karen Mulder and the graceful exotic Jasmeen Ghauri shone in more ways than one and of course not forgetting the unbelievably stunning Helena Christening with her curves and smouldering gaze, so I guess it should have been the big 9! The clothes really came alive on these stunning goddesses on or off the catwalk.

Except for Gisele, who in all honesty is a 90's model who turned super after the supers retired, there are no real supermodels, period. This social media models are just not supermodels like the supers, they're missing the star, the it factor but mastered the art of "social" media to create a mirage of stardom.

Sadly, Evangelista had the sort of beauty that would have aged equally beautifully, depending greatly, as it did, on bone structure...that never changes. Cool Sculpture, ironically...wiped that out, by puffing out her face. What moron doctor thought her bone structure...needed ANY help ??? And, sader still...that after all the thousands of glorious pictures taken...she couldn't see her own beauty. Which is even odder than it seems...since much of her work happened in Europe...which, unlike America, celebrates the beauty of older women... The fact is NO ONE retains that first bloom of 16,18. That newly minted, somehow unfinished, look. But, thank god...we don't stay that stupid, either...

Sincerely, I don’t want to be mean, just blunt. Who cares? Who cares about so called, “supermodels”?! They were and continue to be nothing more than posers. That’s it. Yes, they are visually appealing and attractive. So what? Their “glamour” or what supposedly makes them special is really nothing more than all we put on them. Which is to say, we are the source of their importance. It is our delusions, our vanity, our superficialities the prop them up to be important. I was in my 20’s in the 80s and in my 30’s in the 90s. Images of these women were a staple in the trade of cultural cachet. Then we grow up. We stop being a consumer of all the silliness. I hope all of these women managed to make it through all of the bullshit that during their time, kissed their asses in order to turn them out and landed on living lives immersed in the things that really matter.

I’m your age and I was actually asked to model for Vogue and Elite back in the day. I turned them down because that kind of work is incredibly superficial and unimportant. Sometimes I wish I’d have done it for the money but it just wasn’t my thing plus I was too shy. Models make too much money for what they do but that’s the world we live in.
