South Arkansas 11-15-24 we are in the pre rut the bucks are just now opening scrapes.I think the weather has slowed the rut do to above average temperatures.Gun season started last Saturday. We have been 20 degrees above average temperature hot during day 80 days night 60’s so warm and no rain for a month .Most of my trail camera are night time had one morning. We finally got rain it was more then we needed but we will take it.Temperature finally are average 69 high low 44 now I know some people say the moon doesn’t matter but it has been full .We are not that far apart but it just shows how in Arkansas we say stay somewhere long enough and the weather will change.Hopefully the cooler weather will help some and wet area ,and the Peak of the rut is around the corner,I think the AGFC says in SE Arkansas the peak is around thanksgiving.Good luck to y’all in the Ozarks. We haven’t seen a lot of deer and one doe killed after are camp voted not to shoot does lol.Are population is down some , I have more bucks on my trail camera 7 bucks and 2 does and a couple fawns. If you know much about deer hunting South East Arkansas you know it usually more does then bucks We usually have a lot of deer that is what SE Arkansas is known for.We have a lot of hogs and have one guy at are lease that hunts hogs only .Hope if nothing else y’all enjoy spending time in God creation and how beautiful it is just imagine when the new Heaven and Earth how glorious it will be since it won’t be cursed do to sin.God bless and good luck to y’all this season and hope y’all are successful.

Saw a nice one cruising on public yesterday for MO gun opener. Not all locked down, but some are. Gotta be out there any second a cruising one can come by

Must be a little behind schedule on the property I was on this week. Saw bucks on their feet in the middle of the day, but with each other not does. This was 11/12-11/13 in Central Missouri near the Missouri river. Also saw a doe still traveling with a yearling fawn on the same property.

Still have bachelor groups of young bucks together…light sparring but nothing serious. Does and fawns still hanging in groups of 4-5. Bigger bucks are gone from cameras even during the night, but very little scraping and haven’t seen any chasing or heard any vocalizations while on stand.

They are definitely locked down. Sat all day today and saw no buck movement, not even the little button bucks. The doe has kicked the fawns out because that’s all I saw.

All depends upon what part of the country you’re in. They are still actively chasing here in Missouri.
