It's so meaningful leaving Anakin as the chosen one, how he redeems himself. If it is in fact Rey, isn't the previous history of the galaxy irrelevant(Everything until Force Awakens)? What makes the grey Jedi better than the Jedi, just beliefs? Why should that choose or change the fate of the Galaxy because a way of thinking or practicing belief. In a way think about it there's only good or evil, don't be on the fence. Lastly Luke most likely won't be like the old Jedi, he uses his emotions and cares for his friends, Using any power for good.

Star Wars Theory This makes a lot of sense, especially in the context of Luke's comment in TLJ about the Jedi coming to an end. For true balance to be maintained, an end to the sith means an end to the Jedi and vice versa.

Use the Force for personal gain, or allow the Force to guided ones actions. The balance of the Force has nothing to do with the number of active Jedi vs. active Sith. my interpretation always was that everyone thought that they missinterpreted the provecy because ani turned dark. so they guessed well, maybe luke is the chosen one. but eventually darth vader would kill palpatin and himself - so the provecy was still true because he destroyed the last sith, speaking himself. of course the disney-trilogy is distroying vader’s storyline by completly ignoring his sacrifice at the end of Return of the Jedi

the Disney Sequels are not canon for me and millions of fans. Everything up to Episode 6 + Rogue One is canon for sure, but all that Disney has done with the franchise feels like an entertaining fan fiction at best, which is why they can't even concisely explain why palpatine was back in episode 9 or who snoke was. it all seems to be made by stupid ignorant SJW's reddit users who plan the script as they go and have to enphasize female power through the sequels.

the disney canon is not my canon, my canon is everything that George Lucas created, creatively participated in a significant enough way or approved expressing a greater than average taste and now we know that in the real sequels Darth Maul survive and trained Darth Talon and Leia become the new chosen one, i think the prophecy will remain ambiguous because also in the tales of the jedi comics the sith are destroyed by a group of jedi and not just one, also is not clear if the balance of the force it's refer to the light side or the balance between light and dark, i think Lucas explained it in both versions

i think the prophecy is ambiguous, i'm not sure if that part was there originally, the sith have one too and it's not the first time the sith are defeated by the jedi, in the real sequels Leia becomes the new chosen one, i think that the concept of the balance of the force is also unclear, Lucas explained it like the light side and sometimes like the balance between light and dark, if we have in count the whills it becomes pretty messy

Darth Vader 1. I think the galaxy would be worse, since the Son wanted to rule it with Anakin. But if you mean after the Son died, then i think palpatine would rule "forever", since order 66 would still happen but the chosen one wouldn't be there. 2. I think either Anakin would turn sooner to the dark side, since he lost his mom on episode 2 too, or everything would play just the same, only difference being for what motive he'd turn (to revive padme/his mom). And obviously Luke/Leia wouldn't exist. 3. Someone would've caught him (i think) 4. Ahsoka would still be "guilty". Roughtly the same

I find it interesting that Anakin/Vader was about bringing balance and he himself was on the edge between shifting between Sith and Jedi that only Luke could feel and his balance shifted from dark to light and he killed the sith master and it was just 2 lights now with him and Luke where it had just been 2 dark and 1 light; of course he almost immedietely dies leaving 1 light with Luke. Again, Anakin was born to balance and he was balancing inbetween the sides...hmm.

Luke disrupts the balance. Before Luke leaves Tatooine, there are two Jedi and two Sith... they each even had comparable power levels to their counterparts. Then the combined efforts of Vader's two kids get Obi-Wan killed, the balance is gone, and only briefly returns when Luke is trained by Yoda....who dies almost immediately lol. So the only way there could be balance at the end of ROTJ is if Luke is, in fact, a Gray Jedi. Or possibly there is another Sith wandering around somewhere.

The chosen one was destined to bring balance to the force. In order for something to be balanced, it must be neutral, an equal amount of everything. Due to the rule of two implemented by Darth Bane, the Sith were already reduced to such an extent that in order to balance the light and dark sides of the force, one of two things had to occur, either the Sith would have to grow in numbers to an immense degree (which the Jedi would never have allowed), or the Jedi would have to be Reduced to such a degree, as to be on a level playing field with the Sith. Anakin did the latter, and when later on during the Galactic Civil War, Obi-wan and Yoda had died, he finally balanced the force by brining down both himself and the Emperor on the Second Death Star, leaving only Luke and Leia, with Snoke lurking somewhere in the Universe.

I believe balance will only exist when neither the Sith or the Jedi exist, Luke knows this and is why he is unwilling to create another Jedi order. The Jedi exist only to combat the darkness and the darkness only exists because of the Jedi (Jedi turning to dark side in the first place). Balance can only be achieved with no force users or middle ground force users like the giant in the new season of Star Wars Rebels.

I like the idea of the prophecy dating back to the First Great Schism because it shows that the Jedi wanted balance from day one. It shows that when darkness comes, there is always the hope of light. Sadly, when that hope was realized, the Jedi were too blind to see it. Instead of aiding their "Chosen One" and giving him the support he needed, they attempted to fit him into their mold, thereby thrusting their interpretation of the prophecy onto him. Yoda and Mace Windu both attempt caution with regard to the prophecy, but their willful disregard for the heart of the man they were using as a means to their ends cost them everything - even as they hailed him as the chosen one. And just as in the First Great Schism, when Skywalker felt the Jedi Order was too dogmatic and that he had no support, he turned to the only side of the Force that he felt was available to him. And so darkness fell, just as it had fallen before, yet the hope of light remained as long as the Chosen One still lived.

You know it would be great if someone made a Star Wars MMO RPG for Xbox One and PS4. Would be cool if it was open world and you could pick your race,class,whether you force sensitive or not,as well as your homeworld which will be where you begin the main story. If you were a Jedi you start before becoming a Padawan and if you pick Sith you start as an apprentice or maybe sometime before leaving the Jedi Order or before you are found by the Sith. If yoy pick the backstory where you are found by the Sith it states you can't control your abilities due to your young age and you killed a group of people who important to whatever planet you decide to start on You could also be a Dark Jedi or Gray Jedi. If you are not force sensitive you get to pick from a bunch of different classes like Bounty Hunter for example. And depending on what class you pick you get a different story. For example if you pick Sith the story involves you training to become a master while killing Jedi and being hunted by Jedi or Bounty Hunters depending on what backstory you pick.

Here's the thing: If, when there were thousands of Jedi and 1 or 2 Sith, the Force still saw fit to use midichlorians to father its Chosen One, then the Force clearly felt that it[self] was out of balance and that the Prophecy needed to be fulfilled. Evil isn't just a separate-but-equally-valuable side to "good"----- there's good, and then there's the perversion of it. "Destroy the sith and bring balance". You could interpret that a couple of different ways. As two separate events or two parts of the same event. I lean towards achieving balance was reducing the Jedi down to two and destroyed the sith when he tossed the emperor. Obi might need more credit than he receives for the prophecy to come true. Had it been me either out of sympathy or a sense of justice..... Anakin wouldn't have survived that duel. Instead he leaves his fate up to the force. Who knows what would have happened if he killed him.

Pilfered Memes I assume you're referring to Mortis and The Ones. So there was The Father, The Son, and The Daughter (and the mother who I really hope remains cannon, really interesting stuff there). The Son represents the dark side, it is his nature, he has no choice. The Daughter represents the light side, it's her nature she has no choice. They are so powerful with the force that if they were to go out into the galaxy they would be like gods. The Father would by default represent the middle ground. He essentially has imprisoned his children on Mortis to protect them from themselves and to protect the galaxy from them. The Father brings Anakin (and obi wan and ahsoka) to Mortis because it is his belief that Anakin will fulfill the prophecy by taking his place and keeping his children on Mortis and in balance with each other. All pretty solid reasoning on The Fathers part and if Anakin had stayed it prolly would have worked out. Does not happen that way. Anakin prolly thought there was too Much sand on Mortis. With everyone's imbalances emotions The Son became a bit too powerful and a bit to excited and tried to kill off The father. The daughter got in the way and the son had a good cry about accidentally killing his sister. Then went right back to trying to off the father. Eventually all of them are dead and Anakin says "lol can't balance the force if there's no force to balance" fist bumps Bendu and rides off into the sunset. So basically what happened in this arc: domestic violence. There didn't seem to be a real effect on the force after the death of the ones, which is weird given the reactions had by everyone. I think if the son had remained we would have seen a significant shift. But you would think after that arc Yoda would have been all "mmm a disturbance I sense. The force, cries it does. A great loss, this day has had". But everyone's seems really unaffected, so in terms of effect on the story, not a whole lot happened here. There were plot points, and character development, but there was no real story effect, which I still find a bit disapointing.

I am in a group called JSL (JediSithLords). We have studied the chosen one prophecy and concluded this: the chosen one will bring balance to the Force. The Jedi had their version that the chosen one would destroy the Sith. But the Sith had their own chosen one prophecy. Their prophecy states that a Sith Lord will bring the Sith to power again and bring back a rain to the Sith. Who was the one to bring the Sith back to power? Darth Vader. The theory is that both the Jedi and the Sith need each other to exist. Without the Sith the Jedi became corrupt like in the films. The Sith would destroy themselfs without the Jedi witch is what happened right before Darth Bane came into the picture. The point is the Sith could not be destroyed without the Jedi being destroyed. The Chosen One is not Light or Dark, he is both, yet nieghter. This is the theory that we at JSL came up with. Let me know what you think. Also, what do you think StarWarsTheory?

Cody Brubaker I can see that considering the research I've done about aboloth in attempt to get her one sith kid and Jedi kid to stop fighting she went to both Nexus points can't remember the name of the planet aborbed from one light and one dark Nexus and became the grotesque creature she became. personaly I would of liked to seen Anakin vs her before his decent to the dark side it would be a demonstration of how strong mind body focus and faith and spiritually because if you think about it when he became Vader and dawned on the suit he kinda was using a crutch system both mentally and physically. be disturbingly funny though to see a 900lb Vader in a rascal scooter
