Something important to note: Some 40K units have been merged into a single one in OPR. For example, Specialist Orcs are Burnas, Lootas, and Tankbustas.
@frenfinder3622Ай бұрын
I love how free and open OPR is. They don't expect hundreds of dollars to just try out. Not to mention if you pick an army and don't get into them it's such a waste for the books and things.

A great analog for the Ratmen Clans is the Veer-myn range from Mantic Games for their Firefight game.
@MrGeneralPBАй бұрын
honestly do not like the veer-myn, they look much too goofy
@ArguyusАй бұрын
They aren't an analog, they are the Ver-Men. Or they were before their big update. A lot of the blatantly non-40k armys are based on armys from Mantic Games.
@sergiozurron9738Ай бұрын
The infected colonies are also from Mantic, in fantasy, Kingdom of Angels it's Basilea and so on, and some units from a few armies are straight taken from their range

I don't dislike 40k. I dislike how GW handles their IP. Their rules are bloated and full of gachas, charging for rulebooks that get edited or thrown out within a few months is scummy and charging hundreds for models that cost them pennies to make in an economy like this is sick. Also really lazy uninspired lore choices in recent years. Their models are nice, just out of my price point or never available for what I want to buy. I'm making a Templar brother's list since I like black Templars.

The thing that I like about OPR is that some armies can be use for both Grimdark and Fantasy. My Seraphon can work for both version of Saurians My Chaos Daemons can be use for both Wormhole Demons My Kriegers can be use for both HDF/ Feudal Lords or Duchies of Vincie etc etc. I love this game
@kinghtstemplarАй бұрын
As a lover of Ratmen sculpts I find it really disheartening how barebones the Ratmen clans army rules are, only two units have ambush and thier is no light cav equivalent. fortunately the rebel guerrillas have a similar playstyle and lore plus there units nicely fill the gaps in the Ratmen clans army lists, would highly recommend building a split army to any interested in making a ratmen clan army.

Appreciate that, I've been looking at buying Veer-Myn models for Ratmen. They look awesome!
@kinghtstemplarАй бұрын
@@jackrogers5712 I would recommend looking for some 3D printed models to fill units not in the veer-myn roster or kitbashing could work too if you prefer

The Ratmen clans are a lot like Mantic's Veer-myn in Deadzone. Rebel Guerrillas are similar to mantic's "Rebs". And infected colonies and ver similar to Mantic's "The Plague".

I'm building my first Grimdark Future (or 40k) army, and I've been watching batreps and tutorials for the guard for a long time. The one thing I'm sorry isn't in the HDF is the Enginseer. It's such a cool concept to me, I'd really like to add one to my army! Anyone got ideas how to represent one in the rules?
@WarbossFitzАй бұрын
You can ally in the machine cult and bring it in that way. There's no "minimum" for what you need. The only guide line is the primary army has to have 60% of the army points. Then if the allies go over that.... Just switch them to the primary army lol

I know someone who likes the semi cannon lore of Chaos Battle Sisters. How would that work in OPR.
@WarbossFitzАй бұрын
you can use the blessed sisters army for a good representation of it, or if you want to get more in depth with the army you can use the army builder in opr to make custom units and armies. For that I would take some of the havoc armies rules and staple them to the beleeded sisters profiles.

@@kineticfunk the models I used in the battle report are from the lazy forger. They start as 6mm models and I used the 3d software to scale them up. I don't think it's something you can get off of a seller but maybe if you email someone who sells those files they can do it for you
