my little tip would be thrift stores, it may be because I live in place where the yard sale season is maybe 6 weeks I depend more on thrift stores. National branded thrift stores will often have a color sticker for half off, other church run programs will often have PBs for 2 for a dollar. You gotta be willing to dig and paw through but there are good scores in there!!

Kathleen Malmstrom Those are awesome suggestions. I totally forgot to put in thrifts store where I have gone to buy used books before. 🤦♀️Thank you for the comment.

Love your video! So glad you are advocating for used books. Books are so expensive and unless you’re rich or unless you make some extra income as a book tuber or get free ARC, books will add up. I’ve been a HUGE advocate for using libraries and library book sells since I was in my teens. Libraries (when they reopen) are a huge resource. I also recommend donating to public libraries, churches, local non profits, Salvation Army, and Goodwill if anyone have books that they no longer read or use as those books will find a good home. 👍🏼

This was so helpful! Had never thought of looking up little free libraries in my area before - just found out there are 8 close by to me! Excited to visit them - I'm in Australia in strict lockdown so haven't been book shopping in ages - thank you ☺️

I have been sourcing books for the past 20 years. If you are looking to be a reseller, then the pick up/garage sale strategy works, If you are simply a passionate reader on a budget, then library sales and thrift stores are best. Find a smaller, independent thrift stores staffed by volunteers. These tend to have higher quality books at low prices. The advantage of libraries and thrift stores is that they have convenient hours, large inventories and dedicated staff who are updating the inventory weekly. This means that if you visit them once or twice a month, you are likely to find some great reads.

I love Book Off here in New York City! You can also go to Half Price Books. They have several locations in Texas. I went to their flagship store in Dallas and if you go all the way to the back of the store you can find books for a $1.00 and it is organized by topic (religion, history, romance, children...)

That is awesome to know. Thank you. I will totally check out Half Price Books. $1 is the best price for books.😉 Thanks for watching.

I love this, but I will admit that I am a bit of a snob. I love new books and I love special editions. There are some books I’ve got several copies of. Then again, bath stuff and books....and bookish merch are the things I always allow myself to buy. Hell, I buy books more than clothes or shoes or purses 😂 With that said, I LOVE going into BTS Fairyloot on FB and and other groups and finding books I want for cheaper from sellers. Sometimes there are good deals on there! If they’re older books then I look for sellers on Amazon, B&N, and EBay. So, I’m just not that versed in this! For Historicals, I’d totally buy used just because vintage and you can’t always find them anymore! This is a super cool video!

Thank you so much. You are right. The special editions are pretty cool to have in your collection and totally worth the money. 😉 Thanks for the tips about fairyloot totally going to check that out.🥰
