Nice! I was there last Sunday, a few days after that Brown Trout stocking and it was dead. I didn’t see one Trout pulled out of there. Nobody was catching any. I fished Miller Cyn and all over Cleghorn. I threw everything at em but to no avail! I think they were spooked and hadn’t settled in yet or they were maybe down deep. I’m going to try again tomorrow, so we’ll see!

A word of caution for parking at the lookout mentioned near the 10:00 mark, from time to time the sheriff department will show up there and bust people for anything from trespassing to fix it tickets or anything else they can find. Probably a few times a month they will be found there.

Great video. Thanks. It looks like the Pilot Rock truck trail might offer some float tube access in the vicinity of the quarry area where I'd like to fish for stripers. It's hard to tell from Google maps how steep the drop to the lake would be. Does anyone know if it's possible to get a float tube down to the lake in that area?? Thanks.

Fished the quarry in the late 90’s early 2000’s lots of trails easy to get to water. But had to have 4x4 to get there. We caught some huge cats and striper

How's the fishing right now? Heard because of the trout bacterial outbreak, they aren't stocking trout. I'm going to try for the stripers but not sure when's the best time or where. Also heard that the water level is low and that there isn't any water flowing...

Striper has been great all summer and fall. Silverwood gets private plants too. Water always low in the fall to accommodate winter rain water from up north

@@kendrickmuii2660 you're full of questions that's for sure! You should probably check out the patreon side of the channel. I cover all that stuff weekly and allow in-depth analysis questions on each Lake. Fishing changes all the time at Silverwood especially depending on the weather you can catch striper year round regardless of the weather situation but it changes location and technique with those weather changes. Water comes in through the inlet near the dam.

Any advice on this lake since water lever is incredibly low? We were there yesterday and the lake is dry near the buoys in Miller canyon.
@TroutWest5 жыл бұрын
It can definitely be really tough when they do that... and will be tough again when they raise the water level as fish will need to find the habitat again. It can be kind of risky walking the shoreline when it's that muddy...but any where the water is entering the lake regardless of access will be pretty good. the coves near the outlet towers will obviously have some fish because of the heavy flows leaving the lake. all the food will funnel toward those towers and the trout will want to be there but will be forced to be near shore because of the striper. Shallow coves regardless of Lake condition will be the best bet this time of year. I really like the Sand Beach area to the left of the main Marina. you will have to probably use wader's or some shoes that you don't mind getting really muddy. When they lower the water this much I like the float tube and sit in the channels. I'll be there in the next few days... So stay tuned

Trout are very safe mainly the ones that they recently planted which are the majority of the fish you would catch. as for the striper it's best to limit them and the catfish out of these lakes they have the most toxins. It's not recommended to eat either or of those fish more than once a week
