My 3 biggest issues with this chapter and the finale of the fight are: 1. Gojo getting killed off-screen is incredibly disappointing and pretty anticlimactic for the most anticipated fight in all of JJK. 2. Gojo glazing Sukuna in the afterlife seemed extremely out of character seeing how much of a cocky bastard Gojo is and always was (dude had a god complex for most of his life). Also, him saying that Sukuna was so much stronger and that he never had a chance seems more like Gege telling us this and not Gojo himself when looking at how heavily Gojo dominated the fight in the later half. 3. Sukuna might be too powerful now to make it seem logical that the students defeat him (without it seeming like an ass pull).

What's crazy is Gege literally didn't even have to do that. The fact that Gojo's Purple hurt him too already implied that his Infinity was down. We could have had the (overall) same outcome but with Sukuna or the narrator commenting that "while it _looked_ like Gojo had regained his strength, the reality was that he was putting on a show and that his last Purple was so costly he was nearly out of CE" Instead, it's a time-space Cleave that doesn't even make sense.

He even wanted to kill Yuji after chap 9 but his editor stopped him since the manga was taking off, it seems to me that Gege hate his manga and forced himself to write it, for a while it was fine but when he sensed that he had a ton to write before finishing his story (after shibuya arc), he started rushing it and killing off many very important characters it is sad to me that a potential masterpiece is destroyed like this by its author. He did say it was near impossible to pull off the attack, that doesn’t imply he can’t spam the move. It was probably him being faced with the prospect of dying that he was able to find the solution to bypass infinity, the same way were able to draw upon superhuman strength in the face of death or those we love dying.

My issues w/ Gojo death and Sukuna: Gege made the six almost meaningless. Sukuna was doing more analysis of curse energy than Gojo during the whole fight. The problem with the final attack theory is that Gege just established the “spark.” Meaning no matter what, Gojo should’ve known an attack was coming. And if his six eyes were as useful as the show hyped them to be, he would’ve known something was up. As far as the Kashimo fight, unless Sukuna’s slash is magically nerfed, their fight will have no tension. Because we’ll know Sukuna is never about to really lose unless that attack fails, which how can THAT attack fail? Gege let his hate for Gojo open too many plot issues imo but here we are.

I expected gojo to die, I think we all did, but most of us assumed it'd be a pretty even match up. Gojo and Sukuna would go neck and neck until sukuna is forced to use yozuru's gift or his ct. And honestly the way he ends up beating gojo isn't even THAT bad but it was handled terribly. Maybe we should've it build up, like sukuna sends a cleave at gojo and something feels off, a second one and it hits gojo, and finally the last hit cleaves him in two. Gojo has been built up to be stronger than sukuna so having sukuna, apparently pretty easily, just kill gojo feels like wasted pay off, especially since Gojo fucking earned that victory to, he worked his ass off to come up with a way to deal with his 2v1 (sometimes 3v1). No one else at the moment is even close enough to sukunas power level to kill him and if kashimo does it'll feel anti climatic if he wins and underwhelming if he doesn't.

Gojo was only stronger than sukuna before the shibuya arc, where he didn’t consume all of his fingers, the sukuna we see in the fight is basically a sukuna that had a near limitless curse energy supply, and has access to the ten shadows techniques, which is why gojo in the dream like scene says that “sukuna didnt even go all out on him” and we know this since sukuna didnt even try to use the black box technique on gojo, and was more or less running a test drive on mahoraga to see if he could broaden his interpretation of cleave/slash

My personal interpretation of what Gojo and Sukuna said is that the slash wasn't any different in its properties but in its application. This is why he says it would have been close even without the ten shadows. The ten shadows simply provided Sukuna with a new perspective. And given how inventive Sukuna has been as well as his in depth understanding of jujutsu Gojo thinks that he could have still found a way to perform that slash.

That’s not true, mahoraga could only do that because he adapted. No one other then mahoraga could do anything to sukunas slashes including gojo. Gojo wouldn’t take damage from them if they weren’t from sukuna’s domain expansions. Otherwise sukunas’s slahses were a non factor.

This is just a theory. But I think the reason Gojo said Sukuna might have won even without 10S is because the space slash was an extension technique. Usually, extension techniques are acquired through training and learning yout CT to a higher level. So, theoretically, Sukuna could've learnt space cutting without Maho, but it would've taken way too much time and resources. So instead he skipped the learning process, used Maho like a supercomputer to solve the 'Infinity' equation, just so he can conserve himself foe the Jump Kaisen that's about to happen

I think that since Mahoraga was defeated Gojo thought that the adaptation was gone with Mahoraga so when sukuna shot a cleave at him, he probably thought that it wasn’t going to affect him. My issues with this chapter: 1) The entire afterlife. No mention of his students, at all? So Gojo's entire character is only about being Goku and fighting strong people, when the whole point of Hidden Inventory was that being strong on your own is insufficient? Plus, how the heck is Gojo's impression of the fight "I probably can't beat this guy even without Mahoraga"? Did Gege remember what he wrote...? Mahoraga saved Sukuna on several occasions 2) Gojo's death. I liked what you said here about how it's possible that the cut was instant in space rather than flying, and about how Gojo probably thought he could just tank it. But still, this part was so inconsistent it's a bit shocking. Gojo was literally hit with that exact same slash mere seconds before (remember, when Gojo killed Agito right after losing his arm, the purple came 41 seconds later). You would think he''d see that and think "huh, that slash was different, better watch out for that". The Six Eyes absolutely should've been able to discern Sukuna's intention, especially since Gege went out of his way to tell us in the prior chapter that you can sense when someone is coming with an attacked based on their cursed energy. Honestly, Gojo being caught off guard like this is bad writing, and I very rarely say that about Gege. If Gojo's infinity was down after the self-destruct, or he succumbed to the strain of overusing limitless, or any other most-plausible event happened, Gojo's death scene (minus the weird characterization) would've been amazing. The panel of him laying on the ground is one of the most visceral panels I've ever seen. But this execution was just...sigh.

TLDR: Gojo should've dodged it at least, or used RCT to heal himself because if Sukuna can see the ignition of a CT, why couldn't Gojo (with the six eyes) do it? In 235, the concept of curse technique ignition was introduced. The start of a CT is an ignition that a sorcerer can use to know what attack is coming. In 235, Sukuna saw the ignition of red in Gojo and planned to have Mahoraga tank it in order to adapt to it. What Gojo released was a red limitless attack. However, he didn't shoot it at Sukuna and decided to combine it with the blue to make the Hollow purple, ending 235 with a victory for Gojo (Kusakabe said it was his win not the author) If Sukuna can see the sparks / ignition of a CT and accurately know what attack is coming, why couldn't Gojo do the same? Assuming it was instantaneous, couldn't he have used RCT to heal himself?

To answer the very last question, I have a question that would hopefully answer yours. Did Sukuna, at any point during the first 4 domain clashes use Mahoraga. You know what, scratch that. With the exception of the Darma chakra wheel he placed (which just made Mahoraga adapt to UV, so it doesn't even count as an offensive move in this argument) , DID HE EVEN USE A SINGLE THING RELATED TO ADAPTION FROM THE 10S ? From the explanation, Sukuna had Mahoraga adapt to limitless. But he didn't let Mahodaddy stop there. He let the adaptation figure out a method to ruin limitless, that he (Sukuna) can use. All Sukuna did was take the role of a punching bag (remember those clown times) whiles the adaption figured out a way to actively damage limitless. When ready, he learned from the final method, and used it when Gojo exhausted himself after the max technique. How could Sukuna use a method born from Mahoragas adaptation at a point in the fight when he never even touched the 10S. All the those shirty ass slashes in the first 4 clashes were from his CT given to shrine, not from adaptation. This questions always angers me because unlike the others, this one has a logical (not even Gege forced) explanation if you actually read Sukunas explanation. Bitter fans really doing their best to make Gege look like the biggest hack in shounen rn.

You seem to misunderstand a few things: 1 - Sukuna thought the 200% purple was 120%, and therefore really expected a 160% purple rather than a normal 100% 2 - The remote purple might not even reach 100% normal output given how it was activated. 3 - Gojo was not at 120%, because of how much his output had dropped beforehand, and just wemt back up to 100 again 4 - Cleave needs a reference before it adjusts (assuming the first doesn't already kill), so it has to hit twice. Shrine counts as one, then the second is almost guaranteed to be fatal depending on where it connects.

Sukuna used Mahorage and the 10 Shadows on Yorozu. He also used cleave on Juji. Apart from the Domain (which he also used before) he treated Gojo like fodder. He used the same techniques on Gojo as on Juji and Yorozu. He never needed Megumis body, its just a way to have less work to do. Just let the Chikigami do all the work and relax, Sukuna is lazy not weak

Hey, loved the video but I have some push back regarding your second theory of Gojo sleeping on Sukuna. In preparation of the fight as Gojo and co walked down the stairs Gojo was brooding so much so Yuji had to remind him to turn of infinity. All the way through the fight Gojo didn’t once let his guard down whilst fighting Sukuna and even in his dream scene he said Sukuna didn’t go all out. Logically speaking if you are fighting someone who’s stronger than you (no matter how many “points you score”) you’re not once letting you guard down until victory is insured. So I don’t think Gojo got caught lacking like that. First theory I agree with but I’m still pained by Goatjo’s off screen

When sukuna was shocked by yuji strength, the latter didn't get amped by just his rage, but because Kenjaku did something with him. In fact, sukuna comments right after with "right, he is from back there. That damn kenjaku sure is wicked"

1. Sukuna doesn't need to raise his hands to make a slash. He can use them with his brain alone 2. His slashes are instantaneous and invisible so that's why they can't be Dodged (*even 6 eyes can't be see them unless you are maho able to adapt to it)

The reason Gojo didn't dodge is super simple. Throughout the ENTIRE fight every time Sukuna threw a dismantle or cleave slash Gojo wouldn't move out of the way because he was certain infinity would stop the slash (see the beginning of the fight where he cuts the building in half by shooting a slash that Gojo just let infinity tank). I'm assuming Gojo just expected a regular slash and didn't move because of that, essentially he was caught off guard. If he had known the attack would bypass infinity I think he could have easily dodged it.

Yup I wanted to see the death, Gojo choking on his own blood. Shocked as us understand what the hell happened and why half his body was standing half on the floor. His head and heart were attached, the attack might have been instantaneous but his death should not have been. Not when our girl Yuki was also split in half, still talking and fighting before the rest of her body gave out. This could have been a great scene, Gojo eyes widen as his upper body torso get knocked back choking on his blood while Sukuna walks towards him and looks down on him with glee as he begins to explain. Gojo can only listen, maybe crack a joke and says his students will win before finally breathing his last.

It was hinted many times that if you can understand or see through a technique you can bypass it, like when - Mahito who was undamagable because he could change his soul's shape was damaged by Yuji because he also understood the shape of soul - Maki could suddenly cut even the souls using Soul Split Katana, because she learned how to see the souls that are to be cut - Yorozu who said perfect sphere was instant kill didn't even affect Mahoraga because he "saw through" or 'grasped" the sphere - Yuki couldnt be targeted by concepts because no one understood her body having that heavy of a mass Similarly Sukuna understood that even though the infinity is dividing the space infinitely, the space itself is finite and if the finite space itself is cut, Infinity would mean nothing

In the dismantle earlier in the fight when he hit the building gojo wasnt able to react to the initial slash only the impact from the building, even gojo isnt able to dodge cleave. Only an adapted mahoraga could deflect cleave so its pretty safe to assume at this point that unless your mahoraga its straightup undodgeable.

The fight itself was great, the explanation for how Sukuna won makes sense, all of their abilities were established before hand. I think something people forget is the Sakuna's slashes are extremely fast. Jogo couldn't even react before the top of his head was cut off. And Gojo in their fight wasn't dodging Sakuna's slashes. They were in his domain, so its hard to say, but Marahaga's slash Gojo couldn't dodge. And if Gojo could even react he wouldn't have doubts he could block the attack, so why would he think to dodge?

Sukuna didn't use his cursed technique that made him the strongest back in the day.. He used the 10 shadows to LEARN. This was practically a training arc for sukuna. First he wanted to eat gojo to gain his powers. When he realised he wasn't going to be able to do that he decided to learn from gojo in other ways. He never gave it his all, likely because that could have ended the fight without him actually being able to appreciate gojo and his mastery. He also wanted to learn how to use the 10 shadows and majoraga most likely and who better to test it on than gojo. Sukuna was only having trouble because he put a handicap on himself. This was the only way for him to have fun and give gojo an honorable fight. And Gojo noticed. Think about what sukuna gained this fight: -adaptation to infinity, including space slashing abilities. -the ability to regenerate his burned out curse technique. -the powers of majoraga likely distributed across the other shikigami. Had he just used his own curse technique that he mastered and actually given it his all, he likely would have killed gojo without learning from him. Sakuna still wants to be strongest, and for that its not enough to just obliterate his enemies. He has always been seen to respect the strong and try to learn from them. Yorozu also gave sukuna a gift we haven't seen yet. He has so many trump cards he didn't use yet in his fight with gojo.

A few chaps ago we got the explanation of the cursed energy 'spark.' Basically a telegram to any powerful cursed technique. I see lots of people complaining about how gojos death was dumb and why sukuna was waiting for so long if he was really holding back and heres my personal explanation. Gojos six eyes can see this 'spark' in record time. It allows him to react to cursed techniques and cursed energy unlike anyone else, and its this spark which made sukuna wary of releasing his endgame slash because yk gojo would just sense it and dodge. Thats why he kept on piling up hits, and waiting, at the very moment when gojo thought he won. Why is that important? Well at the height of his victory, fresh off of black flash amps and the thrill of defeating the king of curses, was the only moment where gojo let his guard down thinking full well his victory was established. It was that moment which sukuna chose to let his newly adapted cleave rip, since at that unguarded moment gojo would be unable to react to it fast enough. Maybe you disagree, maybe not, but I recently reread the whole gojo vs sukuna fight and I believe everything that took place falls well within the parameters of what was possible. Its just when youre a weekly reader, you forget some key details here and there and thats understandable.

sukuna oneshotting an entire CITY has gotta be the biggest takeaway from 236 for me personally. So far in the series, everyone has had AT MOST large building feats, but sukuna clearly destroys AN ENTIRE CITY when we see the background in the panel where kasHIMo reappears. What really annoyed me about this chapter is the massive leap in strength of the verse. Sukuna with this one feat is now just the strongest character in the series hands down. For JJK to even be readable, something has to be done about the fact the power scaling just took a massive shit from jumping insanely high. Personally I don't think there's much hope for any character other than Gege's favorite (sukuna) to win against him unless there is yet another asspull scaling feat, like the one shown where Sukuna just blows every single JJK AP/DC feat out of the water, and it isn't even close, when looking at the feat that I just mentioned where he scales, saying that "it was expanding the technique's target. It's intended target wasnt just you, Gojo Satoru, but Space, the Entire World. Existence Itself... It targeted everything before it released those slashes.", and unless this direct quote from 236 is translated incorrectly, we just see what is blatantly the strongest single attack that a character has pulled off and SURVIVED. You can say that Yuki also could've destroyed the entire planet, but realistically she would never do something like that with her mass addition CT. Sukuna is really just insane but what really is more insane is how far this feat could've scaled to. What is sukuna's real power? will Gojo revive again? I honestly don't even know. shoutout to anyone who actually read all of this, I need some confirmation so I dont go crazy. what do you think about this take? Is JJK power scaling going to new heights or is it over for team Jujutsu High? Personally, I think its just over for jujutsu high. the king of curses is back... RIP gojo.(for now)

Gege going this direction was almost meant as a way to respond to the fraud allegations for Sukuna. Like, he could have just said Gojo was pretending to be back to full strength but was heavily nerfed after that last Purple. Instead, if we take Sukuna at his word, his cleave makes him able to kill anything from any verse ever. Like, he can now just 1 shot Black Freeza or Beerus

More specially that Sukuna was able to cut Gojo in half and aimed directly for his stomach so that way he couldn't heal it since CE comes from the stomach.

Whatched alot of videos to see others thoughts on the fight, this is the most accurate, although it makes me wonder did it really only take one slash from sukuna to kill gojo, who brought his rct and output back up to at the very least, mostly full, when we have seen him endure way more slashes, idk, I love the concept and idea that sukunas existance slashes are what killed gojo but why did these slashes stop him from healing? Also I wonder how kashimos cursed technique is gonna get past sukunas domain amplification : /

Gojo got HOED like Madara got HOED. Both authors made characters so powerful they didn't know what to do with them. He stated multiple times he hated Gojo because he made him too powerful to progress the plot. This is just a unceremonial end. Did Gojo need to die for the story? Yes. But this wasnt the way ad I feel it will always be a point of contention for the mangaka like black zetsu taking out Madara... this will be infamous. Gojo got off screened..nothing is as disrespectful

Madara getting killed by zetsu made no sense. Gojo losing here makes sense but the execution was not the best. We know mahoraga adapted to infinity and we even saw sukuna tell mahoraga to use a slash so that he could analyze and learn how to do it. It been established that sukuna is the greatest sorcerer in history and Angel even told us that showing sukuna something once is more than enough for him. It was lame that we didnt see gojo actually get cleaved but this is nowhere near as bad as madara getting killed by actual fodder.

Gojo’s supposed to have the best eyes in the series. Eyes that see things on a molecular level. Any technique, no matter how small or powerful they are, should have a starting point and time. With the way 6 eyes work, Gojo should have never been hit with that slash infinity or not. Also, Mahoraga being able to do it is totally different from sukuna. If sukuna can now copy Mahoraga to a degree, then how do you beat him? If gege thought he’d made gojo too strong, what about sukuna? He can learn the most complex technique simply by witnessing them once.

@@diadiecisse3089 I agree Sukuna does seem too strong to kill as of now but at a point in time Gojo also seemed that strong(also he's been extremely weakened by gojo) . Sukuna definitely did copy Mahoraga. Secondly we see that Gojo couldn't react to Mahoraga slash so it makes sense that he couldn't react this time where he's even more worn out and damaged. If you wanna say he was caught off guard the first time by Mahoraga using a new technique , the same logic applies that he would be caught off guard by an opponent who he thought he had beaten using a new ability.

My real problem with this chapter is with sukuna. How are we supposed to build any sort of connection with sukuna, when gege keeps backpedaling on his character. One chapter we’re told he’s nervous for the first time in 1000 years. The next, oh he’s been holding back. Was Sukuna even trying at all? Was gojo underestimating his own power due to his loss? If sukuna can one shot gojo, who was in a significantly stronger state than all the students combined prior to getting one shotted, how does sukuna lose now? The one shot was the bad part. If gojo had died due to using too much energy and got cut while being exhausted, then why not. But gojo, while not being at 100%, was still pretty damn optimal. He might have been at 50-60% still, while sukuna looked to be around 20-30%. But it turns out sukuna was faking it? Was he ever serious in the fight at all? In order for a fight to be good, there needs to be some sort of honest emotional involvement from both. We don’t know if sukuna even cared, despite his words. Remember, he could be lying or faking.

Sukuna holding back was from gojo's point of view, that's not the truth. We can actually see sukuna's inner monologue and how he was trying atleast. But with that said, sukuna definitely didn't use his other techniques, or rather.. It would've been useless

Really the worst part of this is that it wasn’t Sukuna who got to this on his own. He blatantly learned how to pass Infinity through Maho’s adaptation ability. It just lessens Sukuna being the king of curses as a title. He had that aura of the big bad in the verse and when its time to fight Gojo, he wins off someone else’s hax? I would’ve preferred this fight being Sukuna himself learning how to bypass it and that would’ve felt more fulfilling and fits with Sukuna. After all Sukuna’s character is kinda about pure strength, it’s about himself and about his own pleasure, if this is what his pleasure looks like then it definitely feels disappointing for the strongest character.
