Just a simple question, what is the maximum speed buff possible. One of my characters has Ring of the Wild Hunt equipped but I’m not sure if speed stacks or if the ring maxes it out or overrides any armor set bonuses.

I would love to see a new type, being super heavy armour. Specifically for tanks, its skills would be based around taunting, damage shields and health. With penalties to magicka, stamina and sprinting. It would also come with a new greatshield type that you can craft via blacksmithing instead of woodworking. Which would have a new skill line with lances and spears.

I like light armour for sorcs/heavy magica focus players. Medium armor for stamina dps and heavy armour for tanks. It's not that black and white of course, you can do a lot with this game. But I feel you can't really go wrong with that as a basic mindset.

Fun side note,you get the least amount of advantage from light armour passives as a magica healer then a magica Damage Dealer. Spell penetration doesn't help healing,with exceptions to skills & procs that heal based on damage done. One of the main reasons my vamp blade healer is suited up in heavy armour with 30k of health lol

I dont understand how armor works in the game. I'm level 15 and I have heavy armor thats close to the armor values shown in this video for level 50s? what is the point of higher level armor?
@SirBanana1992
@SirBanana1992 4 жыл бұрын
it's because the higher your level is above an armor's level, the less stats said armor piece will have for you. For example your lvl 15 armor piece: if you are lvl 15 with a lvl 15 armor piece, then it will have an armor value close to what you see in the video, but if you looked at the same lvl 15 armor piece with a lvl 30 character, then its armor value would be lower. A system likes this helps people of different lvls play together and the main factor that then separates a lvl 15 from a CP160 are their skill point/champion point allocations and mechanic understanding.

@Nii Lantei Bright-Davies the scaling only applies for gear below your level as far as I'm aware. Higher level gear will display the same stats as your current level's gear.
@SirBanana1992
@SirBanana1992 4 жыл бұрын
@Nii Lantei Bright-Davies it's base will remain that same 2000ish mark yes. The value stops decreasing at level 50 / champion 160 so gear that is level 50 only will have its armor decrease as you gain champion ranks. Applied in a scenario, this means that if you're level 35, looking at a lvl 50 / champion 100 medium chest piece, it will have 2000 armor value all the way until you reach lvl 50 / champion 100. If you level up beyond lvl 50 / champion 100, its armor value will gradually decrease. Armor value will stop decreasing once you reach level 50 / champion 160 as that is the maximum level for gear. Also worth nothing that armor value is not the only thing that decreases in an armor piece. Set bonuses, traits and enchantment effects all decrease as well.
@SirBanana1992
@SirBanana1992 4 жыл бұрын
@Nii Lantei Bright-Davies they would appear to be the same if they were both of equal or greater level than you. also yes, the progression is comparatively lower for CP160 actually as gear levels change every 10 ranks as opposed to every level, so cp10 - cp20 - cp30 and so forth until cp160

Not necessarily, magplar and magsorcs are actually top tier in pvp. They might use either heavy or light. Light armor grants you a damage shield ability that is actually really good. You stack mag penetration with 4880 light armor passive, destro staff abilities also ignore 10% mag resistance aside from ele drain which also inflicts major breach, ignoring an additional 5280 mag resistance.
@nelson_rebel3907
@nelson_rebel3907 4 жыл бұрын
Droopy 365 Light armor has less resistance, less spell damage (which affects healing) less useful armor ability which I would MUCH rather have shuffles ability for fucking 25% reduced AoE damage For 20 seconds long that stacks with major and minor protection, than a magic shield that either goes away after 6 seconds or is deleted by two free light attacks. Fuck you mean lights better? Magic players have two, TWO, weapon choices thats only difference is the animation on destro and the element type. And offers NO universal execute like stamina has on THREE weapon skill lines both RANGED and MELEEE for stamina builds with an additonal 4th weapon skillline and passives for defense and debuffs. Magic melee players dont get SHIT like that. And resto staff that has NO useful defensive benifits besides a heal that isnt even garunteed to heal you since the entire weapon is desined for group play and heals the nearest players. This is fucked for magick light armor players who's then only choice is to spec into defensive sets in pvp. And even then they HAVE to spec either their weapons or resource glyphs into STAMINA because cc break is tied to stamina only, and only frost staff allows block to cost stamina. If a magick player gets CC'd and runs out of stamina they are DEAD. If a stamina player runs out of magic (if they even HAVE a magic skill slotted which most DONT) it doesnt fucking matter because it wont get them killed. They can still roll dodge, block and break free since naturally stamina players also get a 25% reduced cost to ALL stamina abilites kudos to ZoS. Stamina has 100% more advantage in pvp with medium and heavy than magick ever will with light armor or heavy. Period

Head, and Chest have the most Armor. So, if you're doing 5/2 Light/Heavy, then you want those 2 pieces to be Heavy. ("Reinforced Glass") The Belt/Sash has the Least armor. So, if you're doing 1/5/1 Light/Medium/Heavy, you want the head, or chest piece to be Heavy (For the most Armor) and the Sash to be Light (So, you have the least least armor.) The rest can be Medium without Penalty. Recently, they added Penalties for Light, and Heavy Armor. However, Medium has bonuses to Sprint, Sneak, and Roll Dodge, which everyone has to do. That doesn't count Sets, which can be hard to work in (Especially with Monster Helms, and Weapon Sets.) I suggest Crafting 1 set, so you can make them with whatever weight, traits, and pieces you want, to fill in the slots you don't have filled by Overland, Dungeon, and Trials sets. Finally, a Shield counts as Apparel, so you can have 8 Divines traits (I joke that Stendarr is the 8th Divine) and an 8th Stat Enchantment like Health, or Tristat Glyph. However, shields are just shields, so they don't count as a Light, Heavy, or Medium piece for Passives. Note that weapons, sets, traits, and enchantments toggle off when you switch bars as well as some Passives from the Weapon skill-lines, like Ancient Knowledge.

It always seems counterintuitive to put healers in light armor, even though they are spell-casters. They should have the heaviest armor possible because when your healer goes down, your party goes down. Sadly, ESO is not implemented that way, so your all-important healer basically has to run around in a heavy sweater and pray to whatever he worships that he doesn't get seriously hit. More "common sense" from Zenimax. LOL. ☹
@Riko_XIII

Not necessarily, light armor is arguably designed for dps, but you can still use light armor for a healer no problem. If you're squishy try using damage shields

You can litteraly use heavy or magicka in PvP, which is the best way to build anyway as it allows creativity which PvE doesn't. Also, it makes sense, healers in games usually are priests. Not known for heavy armour.
