Jamie Oliver’s was the only garlic bread. The other two were breads with garlic. Not the same thing.

The "butter" in that first recipe looks like a substitute.

This. If it is, they really should include what it was. These types of substitutions can have drastic effects on results, some times for the better.

it could've been kept at room temp for a longer period of time or maybe freshly homemade butter or maybe margarin at room temp. this is all I can think of.

Maybe it's a thing and I've just missed it, but I would totally watch time lapse videos of bread rising - that was so satisfying. (And obviously Jamie won - that's proper garlic bread.)

Why does the Jamie Oliver recipe call for 500g of butter when you only used 120g? Unless I misunderstood the measurements? 🤔

The amount gets used on the bottom of the pain on the bread before it bakes and add more once it’s done she used it all

@@footdem4384 But the butter was used three times: on the bottom, and on the top before and after it was baked and each time the measurements in the corner say she's using 40g so that's only 120g

Nigella's probably would have tastes better if it was sliced and then had the mixture applied, increasing the garlic to bread ratio.

Your dough for Nigella's recipe wasn't wet enough, and you didn't knead it enough. That's why it was cakey. Should be more like a focaccia. It's also not really a garlic bread so probably shouldn't have been included. Michele Roux's wasn't really a garlic bread either. You've just picked some random bread recipes that have garlic in them. Poor effort.

@@catw8761 yea, i imagined it would be more like a swirl loaf, with garlic mashed and spread. Then rolled up, and baked. But I also can't find the original recipe anywhere...so its makes me wonder if this was just made up 🤔🤔

@@Gurinder828 I found a cookbook review that mentioned "garlic bread that’s baked with cloves of garlic confit in the dough" as one of the recipes, but didn't give any more detail. The way it was done here is very bizarre, so it may have been done incorrectly.
