The more evil and injustice there is in the world, the stronger they grow. They despise existance itself, everything God has created, and seek to return everything into nothingness. Since God created gay people and everything God created is good, demons and the forces of darkness hate gay people, but that won't stop them from manipulating both sides (getting gay people to abandon and hate God and getting false prophets to hate God's children) to gain power and influence.

we're slowly getting better in terms of progressiveness in modern persona times at least! they removed the transphobic scene in persona 3 reload, so we're getting somewhere at least :D i appreciate the work you put into this video. it definitely could have been a short and sweet presentation of the results, but the additional commentary and discussion of queer representation in the games really elevated it to a thoughtful discussion. even if not created for the right reasons, persona 2's lgbt rep in 1999 is still powerful to this day. i hope going forward we can tell better stories about gender and sexuality in the persona series now that we have a new director.

Oh yes! I've been playing through Reload after not letting myself get spoiled for any of the new/updated things and I was pleasantly surprised by that change (makes it kind of a funny scene now too) And thank you! I feel like it's something that should get discussed more - tbh I could talk about Yosuke in regards to that for a while lmao. I am genuinely curious what they're going to do in Persona 6. I know that there's a difference in progressiveness when it comes to same sex couples in the west versus in Japan (I'm definitely not an expert on that front though), but I think they've come to realize that the games are also popular to western audiences and I'm interested to see if that has an affect on what they decide to include in the games

It makes sense that daemons are homophbic in SMT, since daemons are reflections of the human subconscious and Persona 2 takes place in 1999 where homosexuality was a lot less widely accepted. In a game like Soul Hackers 2, (2055) Strange Journey, (2020) SMT5, (20XX) or the eventual Persona 6 (2028) that take place in the future, daemons would likely be a lot less homophobic.
