THANK YOU!! I think you're the second person, among so many, who've said (in another post below) to follow our passion! I've heard so much "don't just make what you like but what other people like"... I'm going to make what I love making and I KNOW there are other people out there who love them too!

Hey girl. I am so glad this resonated with you. Yes! I think you need to start with your passion FIRST, and then start looking for what will sell :) I am wishing you all the luck with your business!!!

Hi Lindsay, just a quick follow-up. To clarify, your point was that these research tools are most helpful when I already have some decent design ideas in mind, right? They can then validate my choices and find the best keywords. But even if I'm stuck, competitor research can still be a lifesaver. I can analyze their top listings, draw inspiration, and create my own unique version with the help of these tools. Anything else we need to know? your advice would definitely help us a lot.

hello, why are you using the seo tools if you didn't need to grow your business? Kind regards, thank you. Ps. thank you for the honest video. I subscribed because of it.

Great question. Just because I didn't use the tools to get to 10,000 sales, doesn't mean I can't use it to grow even more. There is a saying "What got you HERE won't get you THERE." So I am always continuing to learn. What I have realized since looking into these tools is that I can make more progress faster instead of just guessing what is going to work and what isn't. :) I hope that helps!

Hi LA, how do you know what's trending and selling on etsy?

Hey Daliana! I do teach people how to use eRank Everbee inside my program, but I personally always tell people not to start there. I think you have to think up and create things you’re passionate about first before running to a search tool to come up with something. That is a recipe for burnout. I think it’s fine to use these tools for research but to just not get so carried away with SEO. I hope that makes sense, but let me know if not! 😘😘 xo Lindsay

i mean, yeah, but this video then has the wrong title or äh keyword? I think uploading products that i'm passionate about, but never get viewed because i didn't do research, THAT is a recipe for burnout. if i can modify my products slightly to fit the market while still following my passion, i think this is much healthier. that said, if one can use free keyword research tools first, that might be recommendable if you don't have the budget. personally, i don't like to guess and i want to force success and not hope for the best.

I already pay a yearly fee for Canva, for Placeit, i will start paying Printify to get better prices for my products, after i make sales, i didn't even know i have to pay for all this when i was starting POD on February. Then as i was doing my research for my Etsy shop, i saw people also stating how important Sale Samurai and Everbee are, because they help with SEO, but guess what? You have to pay for that too. So i said ok, that's starting to get too much. I will end up paying for 100 different websites, just to work my shop. I'm not gonna use SEO tools. Fast forward from February 4th, i have 75 listings on my Etsy shop, i keep posting whenever i have a good idea for a product, sometimes it may be 2-3 a day, some times i have no good ideas for a couple of days, so i post nothing. It's been four months and i have ZERO sales. My top viewed product, has only 125 views, 10 of my products still don't have any views, and the rest can have from single digit to double digit views. All this on a website, which has hundreds of millions of visitors per month. If you sit and think about it, even if you had the worst shop possible on Etsy, you should at least get a thousand views per month. But that does not happen with me. Up to this point, i've only been paying Etsy without getting anything back. Any advice? Should i also pay for Sale Samurai (i really don't want another subscription)? I have ZERO money right now.

Hey John- my suggestion would be that you have someone look at your listings (like a coach who does reviews). Unfortunately I can’t give you better advice without seeing what you have now. :) I’m sorry this is so late, I just saw it.

@@atouchofla That's ok, even if it's a bit late. Six months now, four sales. Four equals nothing to me for such a long time. Printify has some coaches. I was thinking about consulting one
