Interesting topic! I went with a different approach and looked at the calorie count and nutrition facts pulled from the BK website. A Whopper sandwich has a serving size of about 270g vs a Whopper Jr which has a serving size of 134g. So, even by BK standards, it's roughly half of the sandwich. Also, a whopper is 660 cals vs jr which is 310 cals. Then, if we look at the macro nutrients, a Whopper has 40g of Fat, 49g of Carbs, and 28g of protein. A whopper jr has 18g of Fat, 27g of carbs, and 13g of protein. If we take your costs from the video - Whopper costs $3 - each dollar is worth 220 calories, 13g of Fat, 16g of Carbs, and 9g of protein. Whopper Jr costs $1.50 - each dollar is worth 207 calories, 12g of Fat, 18g of Carbs, and 9g of protein. From this analysis, we pretty much get to the same conclusion, that a whopper jr is about 1/2 of a whopper. So there is almost no cost/benefit of going with either. However, if you really want to maximize your calories per dollar (to the cent), a whopper could maximize your calorie intake (discounting any variance due to humans making the burgers).

The whopper and whopper jr. are advertised to be 4 and 2 oz (meat only) respectively. Assuming they are not being falsely advertised and that's what the patties actually weigh before grilling, that would mean they lose about 30% of their weight from juice loss. Does that sound right?

Do the online customer survey on the back of the receipt and bring it in on your next visit for a free Whopper with purchase of a fry and drink. In my area if you do this you get that non-combo Combo for $3.60 to $4.10 depending. Much better value than the $5.00 Whopper meal coupon. Take that receipt and do the survey again. Repeat again and again. P.S. For awhile a few years back, Whopper Jrs were on the $1 menu. That was a smoking deal as the regular Whopper was about $4.

In Serbia just about every fast food joint writes the weight of the meat (before barbecuing it) on the menus. So, you can (assuming they are not lying) do these calculations in the runtime. From my experience, the smaller portions are, at best, priced the same (per weight) as the larger ones, and are usually 10-15% more expensive.

I use to work at Burger King many years ago in Minnesota . You can get a whopper jr for less than a dollar by ordering a hamburger no muster with mayo,onion and lettuce and you have a jr they use the same burger meat and buns for both the jr and the single. And here in Ohio if you get it to go then there's no sales tax.

I usually use the coupons without the drink. The food is WAAAAY more valuable to me than the drink. However, I do like the digital Coke drink dispenser. It has a lot of awesome flavors that I like to mix. You also have to consider the condiments. Sometimes they come with like 1/2 a gallon of condiments on the bread lol Good information though

This is debateable and still requires an actual study of the engine itself and looking at the resulting deposits accumulated with the different methods.
