Seems to me that the extended version is much more versatile unless we're regularly in very tight spaces where shorter length is better. But for an all around tool I like that extended version. Thanks!

@@RobertBeedle IIRC its high speed but lower torque. Its an upgrade from the low profile high speed, but not from the extended reach which is "high torque".

I wish the 3/8" extended ratchet had the same size as thickness as the 1/4" extended version. The head is too thick it doesn't work in every application. Price is something to take into consideration the first two versions are way cheaper now compared to the new extended version. Milwaukee is the king of cordless tools it blows Snap-On away without breaking a sweat.

Mario S. The head is a little bulky but I don’t think it’s a dealbreaker. As far as price goes as much as I use it it pays for itself and actually makes me money. Milwaukee tools is definitely king of the hill. Thank you for watching!

Simple, you need all of them! That's why I own all 4. I use them all about the same amount. But If I could only have one, it would be the extended 1/4" for sure. I Never saw the need for any of the 1/2 drive ratchets though.

You can put a 3/8 anvil in the 1/4 head for higher access tool. Gotta grind height down a little on the 3/8 anvil for proper fit.

It’s not that the snap on didn’t work out.... I’ve had it a couple years now. I just invested in some of the Milwaukee 12v line up and I don’t like having multiple chargers on top of my tool box. It looks messy. And you can’t beat the Milwaukee warranty

Here’s the thing. There was no case in which the extended version couldn’t do the job; however, there were a few occasions where the regular version couldn’t.

I think there will be places where the extended version doesn't fit due to length but, to your point, unless that's a trade specific issue I think the extended version is much more versatile.

I am a shade tree mechanic so take my opinion for what it is worth. I just went through this evaluation and like you can't buy multiple ratchets at this time. I decided on the 3/8 regular length Fuel model. Today I was doing a break job on a boat trailer and the tool did a great job on removing the break caliper bolts. Plus I used the tool to remove my lug nuts, had to use a 13/16 socket that only came in a 1/2 inch shaft size so I used an adapter that was 3/8 Female and 1/2 male to do the job. I am not aware of an adapter that you can do the same with a 1/4 head. Before I bought my cordless ratchet I used my 3/8 ratchet set a lot more than my 1/4 so I figured the same would be the case with the cordless ratchet. Good luck in making your decision!

BIG Thumbs up telling everyone you break the tight bolts by hand then add the 55ft-lbs torque... MOST YT videos I see using the Battery Ratchets they use it like an Impact and complain about the Breaking Power... I would HIT them with a Rubber mallet and Run them out of my shop and tell them to go grow flowers or something !!!

I have the original length fuel 3/8’s ratchet. And honestly I don’t like it that much. It works great, but the way it feels in your hand is just downright awkward. The head of it is so heavy it’s not balanced well and the thickness of the whole tool makes it hard to hold onto and I don’t like the paddle trigger. Personally the snap on ratchets are superior in every way other than performance and price.

Reckless entertainment tools are a preference thing and it comes down to how it feels to you. The Snap on my be the better tool for you. For me I like the feel of the Milwaukee Tools. That’s why I’m glad we have options. Thank you for watching!

Unfortunately they don't do a kit. You have to buy the bare tool, charger and battery separately. With the standard one you can save a few ££ by buying a kit.
