Big fan of my Vision FG, OD version. The micarta feels awesome in hand and looks great. Makes me really want the WE version, even though I think I'll hate the pocket clip. I love the locking system.

What did you mean the blade isn’t true Damascus? That’s what’s listed on the company website, but I’m no expert in this.

I just got the new one with blade upgrade and carbon fiber scales. My Damascus vision is balanced well on both sides.

Great review! Got my Vision fg about a week ago. Love it. Lock is loosening up a bit as I play with it. Was a little stiff at first. G10 doesn't feel like typical G10...it's real grippy with better than Micarta feel to me. Chamfering along ever edge. Blade comes in super sharp but the steel probably won't hold an edge as long as the "R". For the better position of the pocket clip and the addition of the thumb studs and the huge difference in price, I'll take the Vision fg all day long over the R.

Everyone seems to be indifferent about the clip. Possible to maybe use auto sandpaper and shape it better. I'd say dremel but slower I feel is easier to prevent mistakes (over grinding). The we version is cool but I feel the civivi version is better because of the lock improvement.

I bought the FG and I love it. I swapped the clip for the Civivi titanium clip and it works great. The placement of the clip is different but I'm glad it doesn't cover any of the speed holes. I just have one question: If FG stands for Field Grade, what does the R stand for?

How is the grip on the titanium clip? Im thinking about switching out for that, but I also keep it clipped to the side pocket of carpenter jeans so I dont want it to be so smooth that it falls out when I bend down or lean over like Ive had happen with some knifes.

Check out the Civivi P87. It has a very similar blade design but a different handle with a liner lock

i have both as well. how about?… thumb hole(with a bit more cut out) on the fg and side mounted clip on the r?… (and jimping on the spine)
