Which Screwdriver bit? Why do screws stripped / Woodworking DIY

This video shows the difference between the Phillips (PH) and Forge Drive (PZ) types, which are the basic screw drives, and how to use them.
Knowing how to use both standards can help prevent common wear of screw heads or screw drive bits.
The impact drill (M18 BLPDRC) used in the video was reminiscent of the one sponsored by Milwaukee Korea.

Stripped bits? Better buy some decent bits. Never buy those cheap sets. Even the big brands like Makita, Bosch, Dewalt, ... etc they all have cheaper sets and they are not that great. Not only will the bits wear quickly but they often do not fit as tight as the more expensive bits which will wear your bits faster and damage your screws. A good PH or PZ bit should fit really tight that it can hold the screw horizontaly (depends on how well the screw is made).

Just use the following simple rule: try the biggest screw bit (e.g. PH3) if the bit doesn't fit try a smaller one. If you find the first size (in decreasing order) that fits you found the correct size. In wood screws (metric ones), usually the diameter bellow 3 mm is PZ1, between 3 and 5mm is PZ2, and above that size is PZ3.

길이 13mm 직결 피스면 머리 모양을 확인해야 하는데 십자일 경우 우리나라에선 보통PH3일 경우가 많습니다. 철판 두께가 얼마인지는 몰라도 수직 타공이 중요할 거 같습니다.

Look into JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) screwdrivers, which are designed to have extremely little tendency to strip out. Note that Japanese cars such as Toyota as well as Japanese motorcycles use JIS screws that will invariably strip out if you use Phillips screwdrivers.

Is this the same for the #2 deck screws, LIke I have a box of deck screws and they are #8 we would say in electrical or #2 in carpentry but I bought the dewalt bits and they kleep stripping over and over in the first couple trys. I just wonder if maybe there is a sub size besides #2

이영상을 보고 최근 PH1 과 PH2 를 쓰는데 현장 사람들은 양날비트를 선호해서 ph2만 쓰시더라구요 근데 제가 둘다 써보니 확실히 여기 현장 피스 규격은 ph1이 맞았어요 헛도는것도 없고 근데 촉이 결국 부러지는건 어쩔수 없더라구요.. 너무 과하게 박히지않게 힘조절을 잘하던 마끼다꺼 조금 고강도 비트를 사보기도 하고 그러고 있습니다 그래도 이걸알고 ph1 을 사용하니까 확실히 업무효율은 증가한것 같아요 둘다써보니 ph1이나 ph2나 박는데 무리는 없지만 확실히 ph1이 절대적으로 헛돌지 않고 되려 최대치 박고 더박으려하면 튕겨져나오더라구요 확실히 차이가 납니다 감사합니다 ㅎㅎ 아 찾아보니 ph1도 양날이 있네요 찾기 좀 더 어려웠지만 ㄷㄷ

안녕하세요~ 궁금한게 있는데 컴퓨터에 쓰이는 m3 나사는 ph1이 맞나요 아니면 ph2를 쓰는게 맞나요?

아시겠지만 M3는 나사못(피스)랑은 달리 볼트와 너트의 용어입니다. 뒤에 숫자는 지름의 크기이고요. 보통 M4에는 PH2가 맞는데 M3는 어중간해서 정확히는 모르겠어요. ㅜㅜ

PH1,2,3 PZ1,2,3는 나사 헤드 크기예요… 보통은 우리는 PH2를 사용합니다. PH는 미주에서 PZ는 주로 유럽에서 사용하다보니 통일이 안되는 거 같아요. 요즘 미국은 로버트슨 방식을 선호해요 ㅎㅎ 좋은 주말되세요 💚

현장은 거지 ph입니다 그리고 중요한건 수직으로 체결시 힘이 그대로 들어가지만 측면으로 한손작업시 힘이 일정하지못해 헛도는경우도 많습니다 그리고 시중에도 pz비트는 종류도 다양하게 없습니다 거지ph2 비트죠 그냥ph2 쓰시고 단 비트두께 4.5 좀 얇은넘으로 사용시 조금더 피스와 채결이 잘됩니다

The better option is to not use phillips screws. There is a reason both robertson and torx screws are much better. Where does one even find pz screwbits in North America.
