If these weren't so expensive, I would think they're pretty neat. But more and more, it seems like people forget what a pickup truck is for. Trucks are not meant to be lifestyle vehicles. They're meant to be workhorses. But hell, even the classic names in the truck game are forgetting that.

I agree but I don't at the same time. Statistically, the vast majority of owners rarely or never use their truck for truck stuff, meaning their F-150 is just an SUV to get groceries with a truck bed. I agree that it's silly, but it is reality. I think different trucks have different things to offer. F-150 has different trims which means you can get a cheaper one to do work. Even the more complex Lightning is a great work truck because of the features it has. Rivian is great for adventure. Great for throwing some surfboards in or going camping. Cybertruck is rugged, ridiculous, unique, and has a few party tricks that make it an incredible vehicle. While trucks are produced to be workhorses, manufacturers (especially Tesla) know that they just aren't being used that way. They know their market and they cater really well to their market.

Or get this, things are "meant" for whatever trends society is going for. There are and will still be plenty of work trucks produced because people who are going to beat up on them are not looking for an 80k electric truck.

Hybrids of the way to go if you're just an average to work and back 9 to 5 Toyota in several other automakers have extraordinarily reliable proven platforms that have been out for a long time with really high consumer remarks. And that are not expensive. I'm hearing extraordinarily good things about the Maverick. Even though it's fairly new people seem to really like it very versatile soul electric seems fun but I hear some nightmare stories however I'm sure it will mature like most things

I just can’t get myself to like the CyberTruck’s design. I feel like with some minor design changes like softening the lines of the roof into compound curves and taking away the obstructive triangular metal around the bed would make it look more like a traditional truck without it becoming just another simple truck shape.
