As soon as you hear that intro you immediately know it’s While She Sleeps they really have carved out their own signature sound, love this band I love that every member of the band contributes to everything including shooting this video! Sean and Mat are really underrated guitarists in the metal scene, The clip is fantastic Can’t wait for the whole album and fantastic reaction by you guys!

@@henryevans99 It sounds pretty similar to stuff off of the So What? album and is similar to Nervous from their last record too. It really depends on what you mean by 'older', that music is older than the newest record...

Feels like overly cloying emotion, very similar to the Eye for an Eye video. Like, the imagery is there, and the acting, but for a 4 minute clip, it's a lot of heavy handed melodrama that really doesn't translate well when it's just the audio. Kinda like that Knocked Loose EP 🤷 It's a monotonous track for a band that once seemed to be one of few truly interesting metalcore bands. Now they're just a slightly heavier Dayseeker, replete with all of the verse - chorus - verse - chorus repetition as any band they share the stage with. They should probably collaborate with more basic rock bands and boring rap and hardcore bands, their sound has become less of a signature and more of a gimmick. You can't disguise a bland chorus and meandering verses with an effected guitar riff with every single song. It's why their singles are well received and the albums are largely forgotten.

I have been waiting for this one, finally! Love the song, its really grown on me with every listen. And the video is just fantastic. Really feels like the song is the soundtrack for the clip, in the best way possible. These lads being a fully indie band, and also learning to be competent filmmakers? Its madness. Sleeps are the best

Can we just appreciate the backing vocals on the first two verses though. It's a higher pitch which really compliments the lower more distorted vocals of loz. To me it's the best part of the song. Don't get me wrong, the riffs and the drums are on point. But when I first heard those vocals on the first verse, it gave me mad chills 😅

I have given this some thought in the weeks since you put this out. Fantastic song, actually with for me so far. Unbelievable clip. Reminds me a lot of "Roses for the Dead" by Funeral for a Friend. A brilliant and engaging clip that tells a sad and tragic story through video montage accompanied by a brilliant track that fits the tone and narrative of the clip so well. Also, in both cases, novices could easily be confused about which is song title and which is band name.

@@edschobs5204 thank you. There were moments after my latest miscarriage, around four months, where I didn't want to go on and I thought everyone would be better off without me. My problem with this song is I keep promising to "just listen to the music" and "ignore the video" but I get drawn into the video so much When I go to the opera - yes I go to the opera I am watching intensely at the action whereas my partner tells me what the musical performance is like. So I am sadly drawn back to the video until I get the album then I will be able to listen to it.

I've never understood the appeal of this band. Somehow they always seem like... idk, they're trying too hard? Like they want everything they do to be so "epic", so "emotional", so "something" every time.
@nolankuffner35739 ай бұрын
I'll say, I heard this without the video first. Then I watched the video. And your reaction is probably going to be the last time I see this. It's SUCH a safe and, frankly, boring song that is only slightly interesting with the guitar. But that's the thing: that's been practically every moment of all three singles thus far. It's harder to find myself excited for the album (despite them being one of my favorite bands) when it feels like half of what they make is specifically just catering to people who haven't cared to support them for years. I don't want to say it sounds desperate, but it sounds like they're selling out to people who just want to hear their "Our Courage, Our Cancer" era stuff to me. They haven't been this one dimensional and predictable in a while, and I get that people didn't like Sleeps Society or So What?, but a majority of my respect for a band comes from knowing they're doing what THEY want to do, whether I connect with that or not. This and Down don't feel like that to me.
