I would not have believed this fix would be so easy.. I recently replaced the drain hose to solve a horrible smell problem when the dishwasher first started a cycle so I expected the hose was good and clean. I could hear a motor run when I initiated a drain but water in the bottom remained. I also regularly clean the filter. I followed the instructions in this video and first took off the top of our air gap and immediately saw a collection of "twigs" and other debris in the tube. I pulled that out and started a drain cycle and got a column of water so that was the problem. After the washer drained I pulled the filter and it was really dirty too so I cleaned it. I just now put in an Affresh tablet and am running a cycle. Puzzled at how the twigs got in the air gap tho. No tears in the filter. Looks like maybe some bigger stuff can get through the holes at the top and that the fine mesh filters water going to the spinning arms which do seem to be clean. We are going to start at least scraping dishes now to get the "twigs" off. Good to know how to pull the pump should we need to replace it in the future. Thanks so much for this great video!!
