Having watched several videos about whirlpool refridges(not my model) all of them great, but this one was the most complete and well produced from start to finish and was almost the exact model I have. Although it didn't discuss anything but disassembly and reassembly, it was the best and most helpful as I understood what the problem was but not the take apart and put it back together stuff. To Remove the Middle Drawer for Cleaning just take off the outside edge of the middle drawer: 1) Fully extend the drawer. 2) The edge is held to the slide assembly by 4 small flathead screws. Remove the bottom screws on each side of the drawer. The screws may be on very tight so spray some WD-40 on first to avoid botching up the screw. 3) Loosen the top screws on each side. 4) The bracket which connects the slide and drawer edge is open on top so you can now slide the edge up and remove it. 5) You can now remove the bin for cleaning and clean inside. Also, the glass plate above the middle drawer can be removed by just pushing it up from below or pulling up on the edges; it's just set there.

Today after persisting for a couple hours I was able to remove it. I had to stick my arm through the middle drawer (top doors open too) and firmly hit on the backside of the glass a few time with my palm until it popped up. It took several tries due to all the stickiness and my arm kept getting stuck but it popped up enough where I was able to slide up and back and carefully pull it out to clean. Not gonna lie it was a pain but hopefully this helps someone.

Show us how to remove glass shelf above the drawer! It’s impossible to clean out crud stuck under the edges of the glass shelf! This is a pretty major design flaw. Also, liquids spill behind this large, heavy glass shelf and fall behind the large metal drawer that can’t be removed. Wish I’d never bought this French door refrigerator with the drawer in the middle!

Excellent video,my fridge model is WRX735SDHZ04,this model does not allow the glass to be lifted and still looking for an answer: How to remove the glass shelf above the drawer,it’s almost impossible to clean out the dirt that is trapped as a result of the accidental spillage of liquids and food. Hi I have the Whirlpool G16FARXXY00 French Door refrigerator. I need to replace the hose from the inlet valve. It broke at the valve. I believe I have the proper hose ordered, but the replacement procedure is not obvious to me as the hose goes into the refrigerator just above the valve, and there is no removable panel. I see where the hose attaches to the valve inside on the right side of the fridge behind those panels. But how do I get the new hose from the valve up to where it connects inside the fridge. Any idea how to get the release button to work? It's jammed from the inside somehow, so the ice maker cannot be removed. I can saw it out, or smash the entire unit with a hammer, but then I'll have to buy a new one at $$$ just because a tab won't depress. the maker works otherwise.

I had the same issue and I just bought it last week. I called a repairman who showed that you have to use your thumb in the center of the button and push deep while pulling from the bottom with your other hand.

Thanks. I tried this but it didn't work. Ultimately I used a hammer and busted out all the tabs to free the machine. That's what the tech told me to do when I called. Next solution is to replace the refrigerator. Tech said it was a design flaw and irreparable. @@MsGail61

Ice is building up in the bottom tray of the freezer portion. When it builds up enough water starts to leak outside of the fridge. Where should look in the fridge to resolve this problem?

@@nunyabusiness5070 i figured it out after a while. I removed the plastic insert for produce and with drawer open i reached all the way to the back and pushed up from bottom of the glass. "It was stuck solid from unseen gunk. Basically preyed it from right to left came up finally and was able to clean leaked meat juice. Hope we where having same problem and this helps. Have any questions, ask. Good luck!

Hello👋 I was wondering if you could help me. We have an old Whirlpool. Probably like around 20 years old lol. But we noticed the light bulb dimming and getting brighter, then I heard the fan in the back that blows cold air in the freezer speeding up, slowing down, speeding up slowing down...just like the light is dimming, getting brighter. Also noticed it's causing the microwave light bulb to do the same thing. So is it that fan motor going out or the main control board?

I was attempting to replace my LED light in my freezer I was able to take it off although there was so much insulation in it. However when i went to remove the LED the main wires attached to the wire harness were yanked away from the harness. The space is so small i can't replace the wires back into fhe harness. The wires are short or stuck in the insulation. Any way to fix this?

I put in part number WRX988SIBM00 for the 2014 model of this Whirlpool and for some reason this model came up. I am trying to find where the Defrost Timer is located on this model. Others models show there is one. Is it electronic in this model? No tutorial addresses that.

Similar to someone else in the comments, I need to remove the middle drawer! Has anyone done that? Due to a full middle drawer right now at Thanksgiving, a slender but rather large box of deli type meat got pushed up and then down behind the middle drawer at the very back of the refrigerator. It's so far back there and jammed against the outer wall enough that nothing long with a hook on it can reach it. With a long hooked skewer, I have tried reaching in through the tiny space under the middle drawer (and above the freezer base below) but can not reach the package of meat jammed behind the middle drawer. I did watch the very good Repair Clinic video and will see if the middle drawer releases similarly to the freezer drawer.

The trick is to remove the outside edge of the middle drawer from the slide assembly. To do this pull out the drawer all the way. If you look at the inside of the middle drawer's outside edge, there are 2 brackets, one on each side that connect the slide assembly to the outside edge; it's edge is connected to the slide with 4 small screws. Remove the bottom screw on each side and loosen the upper screw. The bracket is open on top so when the bottom screw is removed and the top screw loosened you can just slide the outside edge of the drawer up and take it off. BTW, those 4 screws were on very tight so you might want to use WD-40 to loosen them so you don't mess up the screws trying to take them off. Don't know if you still needed this info, but maybe somebody does.

The water line on the top of the fridge leading into the icemaker had a hole in it. He said it was the first time he had seen that. Lucky to have found a reputable repairman that isn't going to charge me an arm and a leg.

Nigel Stars there are two hex screws on each side of the drawer facing the refrigerator. I removed these to clean that shelf. it will be easier if you have help but not too hard alone.

thank you, now it will take me less time to do my job, the way I was accessing the evaporator was longer, I removed not only the sliders but also the sliders retainers because I was scared to scratch the freezer interior while trying to remove the panel to access the bi metal and element.
