A LOT of online stores were price gouging them right out of the gate. Heard of some people that ordered at MSRP later to be told their order was cancelled but they can reorder it. New price was double what they had ordered it at.

The first time the state run stores in PA worked in my favor. The Taliskar 10 is $66 here compaired to Daniels said $50 but the Distillers version is only $75.... oh and the Storm is 50

Omg, the roller coaster of the Whis(e)y Vault, GoT House Greyjoy were seafaring people who got sea sick. Then we realize that Rex has totally the worst view with the door and a shelf, while Daniel can gaze outside at the grounds surrounding Wizard Academy. And finally the right Nadura is not in the vault, where is Siri when you need her. So, what did we learn, that the Talisker is awesome, and Rex and Daniel might have a RexDaniels whiskey in the mix. Cheers to great drams and sometimes great views!

This is probably why I struggled to enjoy Talisker 10 when I first sampled it. I did a side by side comparison between Laphroaig 10 and Ardbeg 10 and a local whiskey bar, with glencarins. When each had about 1 oz left or less I asked to compare Talisker 10 to me and it was the weirdest thing I felt I had tasted and couldn't quite put my finger any anything about it I liked or disliked it was just out there. Might have been too complex for me at the time

I'd love to see y'all review the Glenlivet Nadurra Peated Cask. The Nadurra 16 was the first whisky that absolutely blew my mind, and I just bought the Nadurra Peated Cask as a birthday present to myself, and (though I'm only a few drams in) I'm loving it. It's a really challenging and complex whisky that tickles my taste buds in all the right ways. I picked mine up at Total Wine about a month ago for $70-ish.

I have not seen the GoT Talisker going for $100 unless y'all bought it on the secondary market. I'm seeing it go for around $45 MSRP. A better comparison would have probably been the Storm ($45 in my area but I know the price varies widely) though its a good test to put it against the 10 year old.

On the point of the Game of Thrones whiskies....I've pissed and moaned to anyone who will listen (and lots of folk who couldn't give 2 shits) for months about releasing them in Europe so I could buy them. Well, they are now open for preorder and, due to your reviews (and most other reviews), now I've decided I might buy the Talisker and that's all. I like/love Game of Thrones but I like/LOVE whiskey more!! So I'd rather take the money I'd waste on something which is obviously extortionately overpriced....and spend it on something quality that comes with a "RexDaniels" guarantee. Sorry, i'm not a sommelier but i used to be a Talisker 10 fan in the 1990s and 2000s, but it has become, Well, let's say different to be polite. The Talisker 18 is very velvety, smooth but keeps the smoke and brine we all love from Skye. If you find it under 100$, go for it, you cant be let down.
