I'm super surprised that the biologist didn't explain that white sharks move to warmer waters during the winter months and i have seen several tagged white sharks ping positions online in Hawaii during the winter months...

You have to wrap line around your hand to pull the leader in close enough to the boat to get the fish gaffed, once you've reeled all the way to the snap swivel.

Taught from youngest ages to handline, I was taught to use the palm of the hand and lift up with the line coming off the pinky or little finger side palm to the sky and lift . While taking the weight with other hand . ✋️ 💪it makes it very easy and no skin cuts or burns .

I would guess that white sharks move to warmer coastal waters to pup. Food items, cover, and illumination make a better nursery habitat. Big sharks and killer whales eat little sharks and open water is always dangerous in the ocean.
