Those heavy guitars and awesome drums by Tommy Aldridge are Killer! This song is arguably their best(although they have many) work and is probably my favorite overall! I miss the 80s Metal!
@rogerdaly63263 жыл бұрын
Sorry to say but Tommy didn't play the drums for this song on the recording. The band that recorded this entire album was fired by Coverdale in the mail. He then handpicked the band for the tour & videos. Adrian Vandenberg did record the guitar solo for the song Here I Go Again after the record was done. The producer & Coverdale wanted John Sykes to redo his solo. When he refused they brought in Vandenberg to do it.
@robertmaxfield513 жыл бұрын
@@rogerdaly6326 correct, I should have mentioned that but wasn’t sure if he was in the video in time or not. Was he playing by the time they did the MTV music awards? It looked like Tommy playing a monster double base Yamaha set in that performance.
@rogerdaly63263 жыл бұрын
@@robertmaxfield51 Yes that was Tommy. Right before the album was released Coverdale fired the whole recording band if John Sykes , Neil Murray and Ansley Dunbar (no slouch) on drums. He then hired Adrian Vandenberg & Vivian Campbell on guitars , Rudy Sarzo on bass & Tommy Aldridge on drums. That line up did all the videos for songs from the album as well as all live performances. Not a bad bunch to have backing you on the road !
@robertmaxfield513 жыл бұрын
@@rogerdaly6326 I didn’t realize Campbell was hired to play. He must have been coming from Dio by that time I’m guessing.
