Great harmonies and bass right from the start. I immediately need more from this band. Will have to explore this week.

Pomplamoose is the married couple Natalie Dawn(the blonde) and Jack Conte(bearded keyboard guy, also cofounder and CEO of Patreon). They don't only do mashups but play some straight up covers and original music as well. They also do a lot of chanson style songs. Natalie is bilingual and she sounds divine when singing in French. Pamplemousse is the French word for grapefruit. They misspelled it, likely on purpose. I liked this one also, but preferred the Black Doors.

This was a lot better for me than the doors sabbath. I think the way it was done sounded like a new song. I enjoyed it more than the original had its own feel that enhanced the song without taking away from either original.
@TheThamesmen2 жыл бұрын
Just remember that when it comes to voting on Saturday!
@rickfairman56402 жыл бұрын
I think because they were doing it live it allowed them to better mash the music and vocals from both songs rather than taking putting the vocals from the doors an layering it on top of sabbaths instruments.

Just great musicianship that really added to the whole experience

Great Mash up, i didn't expect the two songs would work together. It's great, but I don't think that this is better than the original versions, especially not "Sweet Dreams" which I grew up with. Hard to say if this is better than Alex' choice yesterday By the way, the name of the band is derived from the French word "pamplemousse" (grapefruit), but also includes the English word "moose".

It is a sad thing when you think about it? The only reason why mashups are possible is the fact that modern-day music is based on 4/4 and use predominantly 3 chords. Individual song are rare, odd meters, time signatures. Blame Stock, Aitken and Waterman....
@TheThamesmen2 жыл бұрын
Haha.... Blame Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee and Little Richard!! It harks way further back. The three-chord DGE / CFG 4/4 with the middle 8 blueprints was embossed by these three. All Stock, Aitken and Waterman did were turn the kick up.
@sarumanork-orphanage56122 жыл бұрын
"Pomplemoose" - French desert? Actually not that far off - "Pamplemousse" is the French name for Grapefruit, which does make for an excellent dessert! I mean then you also have the world "Pampelmuse", which is the German word for Grapefruit, so it is similar in multiple languages, but you said French, so I gave you French first! Now- ist that what Poplemoose sees in their name? Could be. I mean I detect a "moose" in there, so in my biased mind, I see a red maple leaf pop up, and I think to myself, this must be Québec French spelling. Idk, that' probably offensive, or it could be absolutely correct. Who knows?
