Too bad they didn't see that. They were married. I read they divorced and that the drummer has really bad anxiety and that the two of them haven't talked in years. It's really unfortunate, they really did make some beautiful music together but it couldn't be easy trying to keep a marriage together and struggling with mental health troubles on top of being in The White Stripes. They were huge when they came out and very in demand. It had to be stressful. I hope someday they decide to connect again.

I've never heard Meg described as a "fantastic drummer". Jack wasn't looking for a fantastic drummer. He just needed her to play the simple beats he showed her. Actually Jack really is a fantastic drummer. Listen to some of his The Dead Weather stuff where he plays drums. Jack taught her what to play because he knew that if he went and found a drummer that no one would want to play the simple beats that he was after. (The whole look at me, look at me thing) From what I understand, she never really took to the musician lifestyle and that's why she ended up quitting.

@nabs77413 жыл бұрын
Oh no, you have no idea what's about to happen in the next few months. Your whole perception of music is about to change. I was literally in your exact same position at one point. Into Heavy Metal, Thrash, Groove, basically a whole bunch of heavy music. And then I found Jack White. I say that because I actually found him through his solo work, unlike most that find TWS first. I know all that sounds like crazy talk, but you'll understand. Anyways, to answer your question. I recommend listening to TWS live stuff. Their live shows were absolutely insane. I have a few videos I'll link, but you said you wanted albums. So to answer your question, I recommend the first two WS albums. The White Stripes and De Stijl, specifically De Stijl. De Stijl is an absolute masterpiece of an album. As for Jack White's solo stuff, Boarding House Reach is incredible. It's way more experimental than anything he's ever done before. You honestly might not like it on your first listen. But, you'll soon realize the album is a chaotic whirlwind of creativity. I genuinely think Boarding House Reach is in the top 100(at least) albums of all time. Here are some standout WS performances: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYHFp5mam9SYZrs kzbin.info/www/bejne/naSQdpKmi7l3l7M kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmLMZ5uNmtSKjbc kzbin.info/www/bejne/oojVo6ttqraZiZI

One of the greatest songs of its era by one of the greatest bands of their era. Still just as relevant a decade and a half later, if not more so.

This song was actually inspired by the song "1406" by the Brazilian band "Mamonas Assassinas"... In other words, plagiarism

What's good about the Stripes is that they were always working with different sounds, always trying a little twist here and there that might make the next song interesting. Good stuff..

Frankincensed yes! it sucks that they broke up\divorced:(
@LKAChannel9 жыл бұрын
George Sevnv Their divorce happened in 2000 and is hardly the reason for the end of their band, it's most likely Meg's anxiety
