*Here's a breakdown of what you missed live or from the initial upload.* The time cut from the live episode is right after 23:59 . In the uncut version they went from talking about punching yourself in the face to the docu-series "the most hated man on the internet." They discussed a lot of the actual plots of the documentary and outlined all of the horrible stuff the guy did. Because of the context of the docu-series, Ethan said that the horrible person in that movie should be ki--ed, he was joking but you still can't say that on youtube. Whitney also said the c word during this time and Ethan said that he recently found out that youtube treats the c word like the n word and it is considered hate speech. Hila got upset because she doesn't like Ethan making those kinds of jokes (understandably,) then Ethan was getting paranoid about if the stream would get auto taken down and they discussed restartng it but landed on they will cut those parts out. The uncut version was only 18 minutes longer than the reupload so you didn't miss much. Hope this helps!

@@vannishpegasus3094 I don’t think being shy and introverted is the issue. I am as well and I completely got what Whitney was saying, I think she just got a bit carried away because she was riffing and joking but was totally open to hearing Ethan and Hilas response. She was more saying how it’s so annoying that co-workers are getting triggered over the most ridiculous non-issues and then reporting it to HR. Like she was saying how she said Merry Christmas to someone and they got triggered because it’s not inclusive, so they reported her to HR. Like that’s so fucking stupid but if it really bothers you, don’t be a snitch, just start up a small conversation and let her know that you don’t actually celebrate Christmas or sumtin, use it as a learning moment to get to know someone. Most of the time people say Merry Christmas as an automatic response to someone, so to go to HR for that is absolutely ridiculous and only isolates you from others.

Even in the comedy world, if you are telling young writers that they need to confront their bosses directly instead of using HR, you are making the assumption that their bosses are decent, reasonable people. Just because Whitney thinks she would be willing to have an open dialogue if confronted, doesn't mean that every comedian would have the same reaction. Whitney's point that she teaches all her co-workers not to talk back to authority is literally what's fucked about her entire argument. I completely agree as someone who has massive anxiety issues, however in my experience, when I was put into leadership positions and someone was upset they aren’t getting enough “responsibility” or put into these situations where they can actually DO things, it’s quite difficult to run things smoothly when people are too anxious to ask questions or speak up about their opinions. I do understand being afraid and anxious, however, it’s not fair to blame it on your inability to voice your opinion, especially if you work in the business she does yk. Her response? Report our manager to HR for bullying and targeting her. But Whitney just got carried away and was joking around. I don’t believe she would actually do what she was saying. You’re ridiculous for for taking what Whitney (a comedian) said on a comedy podcast where she is riffing, making jokes, and being sarcastic as what she truly believes/thinks. When controversial current events/people come up, comedians will often joke around and sarcastically defend the wrong side/controversial person like a crazy conservative when it’s clear that side is wrong and any sane person would be against it. I see comedians do it all the time and it’s funny. People need to stop acting like what comedians are saying-in media where the set vibe is comedy-is they’re true and actual opinion on the subject. Comedians are supposed to joke about taboo topics and say crazy things because it’s comedy and isn’t supposed to be taken seriously. people are getting so triggered lately by comedians because they can’t get it through their head that they’re jokes, not true opinions or beliefs. Relax, this is a comedy podcast and she’s a comedian, stop acting like she is serious and believes the things she’s saying when this isn’t meant to be serious. There are Plenty of terrible people who seriously do believe and defend horrible things/people, go talk about them for their views, not a comedian who is joking.

Love this family and I don’t want anyone to think it’s uncool to test drugs before use.

I'm glad you brought this up! Definitely true that drug users who are financially comfortable can afford to cut their samples and submit them to private labs or test at home with kits. It isn't that drug-testing is some elitist rock-bottom like Whitney implies - it's actually harm reduction that should be available and safe for drug users of any social caliber.

Guys. Let’s remember she’s a comedian here. I’m a recovering addict who ODd because my drugs were cut with Fentanyl, if I had test strips I would have totally done that to protect myself. Also there’s truth to it too hahahah because if I got to the point where I was buying test strips and religiously testing my drugs, that would’ve been my aha moment that maybe I need help lmao. Instead my aha moment was an OD and a trip to the hospital.
@Tangledwillows2 жыл бұрын
@@Ievanh6 Dude, I'm aware it was said in a comedic manner and that everything a comedian says shouldn't be taken literally or as a social lesson. I thought it was still worthwhile that OP points out that it's a bad take because drug testing IS life-saving and cool and honestly, is still pretty controversial. Drug testing is more perceived as a thing lifestyle-addicts do; we'd wanna shift away from that if we want to help the average person test their supply. I hear you and your personal experience with using, obviously testing your drugs + keeping reagent kits or other paraphernalia around implies heavy use and more clearly has become a lifestyle for a person. But, ideally we can encourage all users to test their shit and don't imply that it's somehow a symptom of worse use than someone who's recreationally using without testing, blindly taking which precisely can cause ODs and hospital visits as you experienced - that shit's gotten cut, more potent that expected, mixed with something undesired. I get that she was riffing on the perception that someone testing everything needing their pure fix can paint a picture of a funny, more addicted addict. At the end of the day, drug testing is still cool + life-saving regardless. Thanks for sharing your experience, man. I hope you're doing better now.

Im so happy you guys mentioned Lyme Disease and how bad it is! I feel like a lot of people think its fairly benign. I struggled for years with Lyme on top of a co infection from the same tick bite AND mono! I had to pay for testing through an American lab and diagnose myself before doctors would believe me. Treatment in Canada is incredibly hard to access here/non existent and because no one believed I had Lyme when i presented with my bite I now have chronic Lyme also called treatment resistant Lyme disease. I still struggle with symptoms but its much better than when i was diagnosed where I could only stay awake for 3-4 hours a day. I actually wrote a research review paper on the efficacy of tick bite prophylaxis to prevent infections in the first place!

Same here. Lyme ruined my life for years and I’m still dealing with the aftermath today. It’s scary how uninformed the general public is about tick borne illnesses because of how common they are and how much they can impact people.

Still haven't been diagnosed but the past 2 and half years after a tick bite have been rough. I'm planning on setting up some more doctors appointments and actually getting to the root of what the hell happened. The headaches and fatigue have been rough. All the doctors told me was I had encephalitis and nerve damage in my brain from it. Gave me epilepsy meds that I didn't feel helped so I just stopped taking. Cbd helps a bit.

@• Funny enough, I also lived in a rural area and spent most of my free time outdoors camping and this was the first and only time (as of yet) ive been bit. I know in Canada there are areas identified as “hot zones” for Lyme disease infected ticks. Maybe this is the explanation? All i know is it hit me like a freight train!

@@blubayou22 Definitely don't agree with the sentiment that you can do whatever if you pay someone well, but I do believe that most people are ethically ambiguous/flexible. Sure they have their own ideas of right and wrong, but most people are willing to do things they believe are wrong for money/personal gain. People tolerate all kinds of BS for money, at both ends of the spectrum. People generally have less scruples than you might expect.
