What you're saying about Whitney is what makes her The Voice. The power, the sweetness, the control. That head voice!!! Other singers can 'sang' too; they sound great, but Whitney just was anointed with something different. She made you feel a specialness. Even gospel singers would stop and listen to her. I remember once at the Grammys, Celine Dion said she had to stop and listen to Whitney. That's saying something. I once comforted a newborn baby (waiting for his mother to breastfeed him ) with Whitney's soothing voice. And I tried other voices and that baby cried on all of them except Whitney. That's when I knew she was one of a kind.

Though she struggled with sin, Whitney Houston professed faith in Christ, even until the very end. Therefore, it's safe to say that she'll be there at the Resurrection, where the righteous (in Christ) are given new glorified bodies, and are forever free from sin and the corruption of the world.
@sxm762 жыл бұрын
Well, we all have sinned and fall short. It wasn't just Whitney.
@fashionbeast7089 Жыл бұрын
And how do you know that? 🙄 Proffesing faith doesn't mean going to heaven.
@theflash5523 Жыл бұрын
@@fashionbeast7089 Because the Scripture says: 1 Corinthians 12:3 - *...no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.* And we know that Romans 8:10 - *...the Spirit is life because of righteousness.*
@theflash5523 Жыл бұрын
@@fashionbeast7089 Also, I'd like to add as a side note that: "learning to love yourself" is definitely not the greatest love of all - the death of Jesus Christ on the cross is (John 15:13); i think Whitney herself was starting to learn that lesson later on in life... perhaps a little too late (see the title of her 7th and final studio album, "I Look to You") ... but that's a lesson we can all look at, and take, and learn for ourselves: that with the Lord, all our needs are met (Philippians 4:19), and His love for us (for those of us who are His) is immeasurable (Ephesians 3:18-19). ...Anyways, i thought that was worth noting.
@theflash5523 Жыл бұрын
@@fashionbeast7089 Here is the gospel: *Romans 3:10* - ...There is none righteous, no, not one [but God] *Matthew 19:17* - ...No one is good but One, that is, God. *Romans 3:23* - ...All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. *James 2:10* - For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. *Romans 6:23* - ...The wages of sin is death... *Acts 17:31* - …[God] has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness… *Matthew 12:36,37* - ...for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned. *Ecclesiastes **12:14* - …God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil. *Romans 1:18-32* - …[His] wrath … [will be] revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men... *1 Corinthians 6:9-10* - Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. *Revelation 21:8* - …the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. *Romans 8:1-3* - There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21), but according to the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-24). For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do…, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh [through His Son Jesus]… *Romans 3:25-26* - …in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed [by men], to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. *Ephesians 2:8-9* - For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. *Deuteronomy 10:17* - For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, … who shows no partiality [to sin] nor takes a bribe. He administers justice… *John 3:16* - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. *John 3:36* - He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. *Acts 4:12* - …there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. *1 John 2:2* - He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. *Romans 5:9* - …having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. *Romans 5:18-19* - Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous. *Luke 23:39-43* - Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.” But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom. ”And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” *Luke 23:44-46* - Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. Then the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two. And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’… *John 19:28-30* - After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, … He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. *Romans 10:6-13* - [So] the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, … if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. *1 Peter 1:8-9* - …Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith-the salvation of your souls. For God now says to all those who believe in Him "I will be merciful to [your] unrighteousness, and [your] sins and … lawless deeds I will remember no more. (Hebrews 8:12) *1 Peter 1:13* - Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. *2 Timothy 1:10* - ...who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light [to us] through the gospel.
