I miss Whitney like she is kin, like a friend, like a child, like a mom and like a first love. I'm not going to be ashamed to say these words bcuz I owe it to her. Had she been born just a decade or so later, even with that family and not being white ( it still unfortunately, has cultural and religious implications) , she may be living a different life and giving a whole new demographic, the inspiration the carry on. I often think about Robyn. Talk about strength! She was an equally beautiful woman and I know she was and is in love with Whitney. I'm so sorry sweet Robyn for all of the weight, pain and loneliness that was the other side of her gift. I've cried many many times for both of you. I am an empath of sorts and I talk to Nippy whenever I can't take the pain of loving and loosing someone that much, who I never even knew. I wish I could reach out to you, Robyn and I hope you were able to live again. I'll be buying your book soon and if there's any contact info, I'll lyk how beautiful yet bittersweet I know it was. I wasted my entire life on a man who got married had children then Divorced and Still never put me first even tho I moved to live with him, him and his wife, then him and his many girlfriends so about 35 years of Lovin this man of him not wanting me 2b with anyone else but expected 2b waitin for him when he was ready.I finally lost my mind as did he and now Its just a lonley miserable existence every day cuz I feel so used up and discarded and dead inside like my heart is a charcoal bit....I wish I knew now what I shoulda known then..

Robin was Whitney's true friend and you can see they loved each other, and if Robin had been with her all the time through the years, I believe Whitney would still be here with us and would not have died in such a manner. People have offered her big money to out Whitney for years. The rumors about them started as soon as she became famous. They lived together but Vanity Fair did a story ( and other publications)and the press were all over their lives together from then on. Robyn,...her business manager,assistant moved out because of this. How many people do you know who live with their employees? I am a musician and back in the late 80's (?) Whitney was recording an album in Northern California. I actually saw them and even for that brief amount of time, it was obvious that they were deeply in love. Clive Davis threatened to drop her and said she had to choose between her career and her relationship with Robyn. I don't know this for a fact but it was widely believed among the musicians community. Whitney had the pressure of her career, the condemnation of her mom and family and her false religious indoctrination from the repressive black church ideology. Even Bobby Brown finally said long after her death, that if Robyn had stayed with her she would still be alive. He also complained during the craziness of their drug addictions that his problem was about her sleeping with women. ( even though he had babies popping up all over the place) People who have an issue with lesbians and bisexuals want to consider the book as a betrayal but she could have told her story decades ago. You are wrong about this and the truth of their relationship can never be known other than from those two women. The information that we can absolutely verify, tends towards it being true. Dionne Warwick whenever she was asked about this, didn't say no its not true. She said its nobody's business. Luther Vandross went through the same thing but it was a million times harder for black women back then. Look at Queen Latifah and how long it took before she came out. People in the LGBTQ community knew about her long before she confirmed her sexuality to the public because in places like San Francisco, LA and New York people were used to seeing gay and lesbian celebrities in our social settings. We also knew the extremely damaging effects that could end their careers because of religious fascists and hypocrites.

I don't think that Whitney slept with other women apart the relationship she had with Robyn when they were teens, if it was true where all those women that she slept with? The idea that her mom and family were willing to watch her destroy herself rather than support her just as she was is just plain greed and hypocrisy. People who have trouble with accepting the fact that those women loved each other and the homophobia of this society...and especially the black community is what forced them apart. If I had to pick sides: WH/RC v. WH/BB...my pick is WH/RC. Now either INtheLIFE v. NOTintheLIFE...my pick is IN the Life. Or rather RC v. BB...my pick is Team RC all day over BB!! But when it comes to Whitney, WH v. RC...No choice here because I'm Team WH 24/7/365×infinity!! So I wanna know why everyone assumes that if WH/RC had stayed together and she never married BB, that WH would be alive and well today? I'm probably one of very few people who is not ready to just give RC a lifetime achievement award for being with WH back in the day! Yall giving RC way too much credit for something most people never saw out in the open. For someone and something which was spoken about in rumors, but definitely never confirmed by WH. Now truth be told it was known in the Life that WH/RC were together. FACTS!But understanding that time period in which this went down, WH could never have been open with herself after she became the industry's most iconic and awarded female singer in the world! So enters BB. Now we all know he served a purpose, but in the end he caused her great internal pain and suffering. He betrayed her more times than Judas betrayed Jesus. And where was RC? Well according to many, she was there for a minute, like 9 years after that dreaded wedding day. But at some point she was gone, and she never came back. And she remained silent for the last 21 years. Now here we are in 2019, WH has been gone for 7 years, and now RC is writing a book tentatively titled "A Song For Whitney". Wtf? Why now? And what could she say ? Yea that was me, I had that before BB, I had the baddest chic in the game rockin my chain, blah blah blah. WH ain't here to fact-check whatever she says. Perhaps RC wants a little game time off the bench back in the spotlight, and make a few dollars in the process. This book, on the surface, sounds like a self-serving endeavor. Perhaps in the end, after so many years of silence, she wants to apologize to WH for betraying her and abandoning her when WH needed her most!! Just a thought. This is just my opinion, but from what life has taught me, when two people (gay bi or straight) are in love for a period of time (years), that if they suddenly part ways never to be again, there is a reason behind it. WH was betrayed by just about everyone in her inner circle, including family and friends alike. Let's not be so quick to anoint RC.
