The thing that really gets to me about Marc and Lisa is that Lisa is joking about Marc sleeping on the couch so much he's left a dent but the man works 10 to 12 hours a day in a hot kitchen, 7 days a week..... if anyone deserves to sleep on a real goddamn bed, it's him!! I sleep on the couch. When a dent to my skinny ass i just get another couch. The couch is more comfortable then some bed. Buy a nice couch with arm rests that are like big soft pillows. I have been in jail and there i was in solitare and slept on cement without even a blanket or pillow. Also was homeless sleeping on the cold, wet had dirt. But ya i have 2 beds and still prefer the couch.

Barefoot Bob's closed in December 2016 and no reason was given as to why they closed. Barefoot Bob's dropped a lot of Gordon Ramsay's suggestions and changes after he left and they went back to their tiki theme. Despite this, the restaurant still lasted for more than four years after the Kitchen Nightmares makeover.

@iliketotroll250 must be different in different places because I live in Louisville, Kentucky was a bartender at one of the busiest bars in Louisville and the job was the best and easiest job I ever worked, I only worked Thursday, Friday, and Saturday's and still made 2000 weekly minimum, one of the bartenders was pocketing money that wasn't his for the entire 6 years he worked there but the owner still decided to fire all 6 of us and hire a whole new crew and even with a recommendation from the owner because he knew I wasn't in on it and 10 years of experience in bars I still couldn't get another bartender job, there was literally waiting list with hundreds of bartenders waiting to be hired at every bar. Yea some people aren't cut out for the fast paced work but I've worked as a fastfood worker, construction worker, server, bouncer ect and the only job that was as easy and paid as much was being a server. No offense but when I was a bartender and a server I felt like I was grossly over paid. I'd serve firefighters, police, EMS, and even some doctors and they would tell me I made significantly more then them

I have never felt so bad for any owner than I have for Mark. After that first big chewing out by Ramsey you can see the devastation on him, and then when Gordon walks out, Mark's first reaction is "I'm gonna go clean". Most of the time it has to be screamed at them or threatened that Gordon won't come back until they do it. So even after that heart breaking moment for Mark he puts his head down and carries on. Oh and that jerk off of a brother getting upset after the revamp, dictionary definition of a cry-baby. Why is there always someone in these restaurants that thinks "But we'll lose all our old business if we change" when you are literally a sinking ship, sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt. Absolutely LOVE that Gordon wouldn't shake his hand.

To address your second point, it’s usually denial, or pride. Most people don’t want to admit what they were doing before wasn’t working because it threatens their worldview, or as I said earlier, their own ego. However that’s what makes the difference between a successful person and someone who fails. Editing is king. You'd have to watch all the raw footage to draw your own conclusions. This is a drama series, edited to drive a narrative; Ramsay isn't a marriage counsellor, he isn't a wizard, do you think every city he goes to can do overnight renovations just like that, it takes weeks/months of planning; he's a businessman who created an entertaining series about supposedly saving businesses. Well, a lot of the old customers who knew this restaurant and staff for a few years say that the bathrooms were always filthy, the food service horrible, and the food was never fresh but old tasting and frozen. Marc said right at the start "i'm not a trained chef but I think I can hold my own". So he's a cook only. Trained at a culinary school is more than cooking. I'ts butchering and learning about the cuts for flavour and economy. How to keep your ingredients fresh, how to price your dishes correctly so that you know the percentage you should make on each dish. Time management and serving etc. At least when you learn these skills you have the very basics you need. Most Chefs get years of real experience before they get their own place. Marc is a lovely person but it's not enough.
