Things that will help you beat Pereira Southpaw - He tends to have a harder time against natural southpaws becuase it reduces the effectiveness of his calf kick and left hook, as shown in his kickboxing days and Khalil. Good Cardio - If you don't, He will break you no matter how well your doing. Heavy offensive grappling gameplan - Doesn't need an Explaination. Good defensively - Keep your f'ing hands up. If your like Hill or Jiri with your hands by your waist, You will get knocked tf out Being shorter - Removes his jab to the body which sets up a lot of his strikes (Optional) Do not let yourself get backed up to the fence - Izzy KO was kinda a fluke, if he gets you against the fence he will tee of on you. Back him against the fence - He relies a lot on being out of range of strikes or going straight backwards out of the way, Jiri had some success doing this

I think Jon would wrestle early. That's why I think Tom is the real kryptonite for Jon, his wrestling advantage he normally has...just probably wouldn't be there. Aspinall is a very good grappler. Alex is decent, but the grappling exchanges he had with Izzy were less than impressive.

Isn't Adesanya known for being a great counter-striker? I mean that's how he knocked out Paolo and Rob
@l.k.96663 ай бұрын
Was thinking the same thing.
@MMAChe.3 ай бұрын
Rob was gifting him the counter from over swinging way out of position, Paulo costa got broken down via jabs and leg kicks before he was finished. Adesanya does not slip and rip like a prime conor mcgregor or Ilia Topuria. He evades and circles to space where he jabs and leg kicks at range. Even against Marvin Vettori, who is slow as shit. Adesanya would just evade his strikes circling to the center and jab and leg kick at range. This is why he lost DDP he wasn't countering his blitzes he was just trying to evade.
@SonOfMartylewis3 ай бұрын
Pretty sure he also countered Alex peieira to knock him out no? There is a couple of times in the ddp fight where he attempted the counter left hook or right not to sure bit left I believe and ddp right lands first. Ddp's defence on the stats in terms of strikes taken clean is like 1% less than izzy, so if izzy defense isn't considered bad how is ddp? He is tight in his defense and since the till fight hasn't been able to be counted by top class strikers for a reason. If izzy and Rob saw a chance to put him out of there they would've
@SonOfMartylewis3 ай бұрын
I don't have a problem with people saying Alex beats ddp, but provide proper reasons as to why, Adesanya didn't just "catch" Alex. On the score cards izzy was up. You can argue he wasnt but strikes were close on the paper. Adesanya never said he was in trouble. He said he was shocked that the leg kicks hurt him so early, I love how the adjustments thing is only given to Alex. No other fighter can ever make adjustments, it seems. A lot of fighters can look at Alex last fight and take stuff from it. Jan is stronger than Ddp? Based off what And before any boot lickers are like ahhh, he is bigger. It's bot by much. And then we can use that same logic with Alex. He was a middle weight and hitting hard mov3 up to lhw arguably the hardest hitter there. There is no basis to your claims
@SonOfMartylewis3 ай бұрын
Ddp and Jan also aren't the same type of fighters, ddp's pressure insane as well as volume. He drowns as of recently all his opponents. We have never seen izzy and sean so tired. Rob was tired first round. All these things you need to take into consideration. Grappling is not the same I know Jan's takedown are better in my opinion. But the way dricus works on the ground chasing a submission every second. And this would be agaisnt a tired Alex as well based on how ddp fights. If Alex can improve, so can ddp. We can easil6 assume the free body work won't be a thing anymore. And his wrestling is improving? Based on what? No one has tested him on the floor really since Jan. These are all statements based off nothing. Not to be rude

Alex may do ok against someone like Gann, who is a pure striker. If he fights Aspinal he will be taken down immediately and that will be it.

DDP has very dangerous submission threat, if he gets Pereira down he has a pretty legit chance of finishing him, people will disagree but even at 205 I think DDP has a better chance than anyone in the division right now (outside of maybe Ankalaev). Jones and Aspinall both beat Alex very easily in my opinion. DDP and Ankalaev are 50/50 fights.

I think people are looking over Rakic way too much, he’s a great striker and could put Ankalaev out, let’s not talk about Ankalaev till he gets the job done, once he’s done then Alex vs Ankalaev is inevitable.

Alex definably should fight Tom its a win win if he loses doesn't change anything that he accomplished in the UFC and is one of the GOATS but if he wins he is the GOAT first triple champ! He would be crazy to not try.

@@arnavpandey5386 sorry but reality if you have a hard fight with rountree I’m not favoring you to beat anklaev let alone aspinall but it was a good win and one of Alex’s best performances especially in the 4th round.

@MMAChe. Like Jan. When he all around out struck and shut down the Ankalaev game . Ankeliev got dropped by leg kicks that was not very all around striking.
