I think Pereira beats Ankalaev. Ank isn't the type of guy to to blitz in like Rountree which is what gave Pereira problems, he usually keeps it a more technical kickboxing fight on the feet. @Carmeniooptc2 ай бұрын
Pereira showed levels in this. Very often it happends with KO artist that when the KO doesn’t happen early, they start getting anxious and frustrated and start committing mistakes. Alex showed patience and even tho he was bested in the first few rounds, he was putting up investment shots to the leg and face that proved very valuable in the 3rd and 4th rounds. Plus you could see in the 4th that even tho khalil was almost done he didn’t rush nor overextended any strike, it has a masterful performance. Now all that is left is Ankalaev. Tbh this fight is very dangerous for Alex, but at the same time we know that he has been improving his grappling plus the dude is very strong. This could very well be a quick night for Ank or we could be really impressed by Alex defensive wrestling skills. I doubt Ank will strike with Alex and forget his grappling like he did against Jan (Ank only started grappling once jan destroyed both his legs and it costed him the fight). Saying that I really hope Ankalaev loses to rakic. A guy who only fights in Abu Dhabi shouldn’t be champ unless he is box office.

I agree with your takes. Khalil didn't really gas out, he got beat up because Alex changed his gameplan from a "wait and counter with the left hook" strategy to a "move forward, take the lead with jabs and leg kicks" strategy. Khalil did a really good job blitzing in and out with his hands up so that Alex wasn't able to find the left hook (except 1 time I forget if it was in the 1st or 2nd round he did land it but Khalil took it well). So Alex stopped waiting to counter and became the leader with the jabs and it worked.

If Alex is thanos, then Rounntree is Iron man. He has my respect👊

I loved the fight. Khalil got a lot of respect. Alex got a legitimate test in the striking department. Now he just needs to get past Ankalaev, somebody who CAN fight anywhere and if he gets through that i say let him go for HW gold to wrap things up.

People can't understand that Pereiras been KOing waay better strikers then ANYONE in the UFC many many years ago, and has only been getting better. Anything these UFC guys can do on the feet, Poatan can do it 100x better.. No striker is gonna beat Alex, NOBODY is gonna beat him anytime soon period. I'd bet my entire house Alex beats Jon Jones.. Cmon the guy that got out struck by Dominick Reyes 5 years ago.. Pereira washes Jon Jones matter fact..

Reyes is a striker who was on a ko streak and jan had a close fight with alex jon jones subs alex and tom could sub and ko

What is pereira gonna do when Jon takes him down
@EKk88192 ай бұрын
@@yofat696 if Jon can take him down he'll get right back up.. Why's everyone acting like Jones is some dangerous BJJ guy, he couldn't even finish fetal position Smith, and couldnt take down Reyes.. He's never dropped a single fighter in the UFC with his hands, and other the the super suspect Gane fight Jones has looked terrible in his last few fights.. He ran away from the LHW division cuz he didn't want to rematch Reyes. Anyone who can see reality knows Jones doesn't stand a chance.. Alex would destroy him..
@EKk88192 ай бұрын
@@dawheel7841 yea cuz Jones has this INSANE dangerous BJJ game... Couldn't sub anthony Smith or Santos tho... Or OSP, bunch of guys he took down. Jones is the least dangerous fighter Alex fought since his UFC debut if Alex fights him now.. Yall thinking you're getting prime Jon Jones in his next fight are sadly confused.. Jones is washed up, poses no threat to Alex. Also what does anything u said about Reyes matter? He's a striker on a KO streak, then what is Alex? You guys are all massively underestimating Poatans entire MMA game, every guy that was gonna take him down and sub him failed..

@@EKk8819do you actually watch the fights or what? One of his big moments was KOing Cormier cold, which is in fact also a knockdown. And i don't know if you're aware, but takedowns are not a BJJ-only skill. There are plenty of guys who are a tremendous takedown threat while barely having any BJJ at all. Jones outwrestled an Olympic wrestler in Cormier, and his last fight was him taking down and choking out the supposed best guy in the division at the time. I'm an Alex fan but you're just delusional lil bro

Winning against Aldo in this fashion is way worse than losing to him brutally. He lost all little fans he had before this fight and the UFC will probably feed him to the real good prospect
