I've got a confession to make Phil, here goes... Phase one training ATR Bassingbourne 1997 so gats were SA80's (cleaned to destruction), there was a Geordie Fusilier recruit bully in our section who quite fancied himself as the top dog, in the evenings, rather than brush up on his drills, he used to go around our section (3 section Korea Plt) and make sure we all knew how he felt that he was the man one way or another, you know the score. Anyway a few weeks later, we had our first night shoot coming up so, after live firing during the day, we kept our gats in our rooms in the block rather than handing them back in to the armoury during scoff to save time (standard). Obviously the gats had to be guarded while the guys were down the cookhouse and when our section commander asked if anybody would volunteer to stay behind to look after the gats, I suddenly had a brainwave on how to knock this Fusilier down a peg or two so I immediately volunteered for the job, each gat was on each recruits bed ready for the evenings shoot, then when everybody had left for scoff, I went over to said Fusiliers bed and clicked his change lever to auto! hee hee hee! Later on the range that evening..... all was dark with the only light being red and in the range hut which was directly behind the range so you could hear everything that was going on. The full screws used chalk to put an identification number on each of our backs. I was in the first group and said Fusilier was in the second. The night shoot went perfect for me, not a lot to go wrong really, billy basics yeah? Anyway, second group goes in and my heart was pumping as I was pretty sure this guy wouldn't check his change lever.... One of the range team highlighted each target for each lane one by one with a red filtered torch to give the recruits some idea of where they were supposed to be aiming... then the command "WITH A MAGAZINE OF TEN ROUNDS...LOAD..........READY...... TARGETS TO YOUR FRONT... FIVE ROUNDS IN YOU'RE OWN TIME GO ON!" Again my heart was pumping like billyho at this moment, then there was the obligatory pause before the first round goes off "BANG" (no dice)... the second "BANG"(no dice) then "DDDDDDDDDD"! The smile on my face went from ear to ear! One of the section commanders shouted "WHO WAS THAT!" Said Fusilier got dealt with old school style, nuff said. Thanks for the vids Phil. Best Steve

Me and my best buddy( 2 REME Eeejits)were heading back from Auchnacloy to our base in Ballykelly, after repairing some vehicles for the Gren guards. I happen to notice that our odometer was not working, so instead of driving straight back to camp, we made a bit of a detour and went to my girlfriend's house in East Belfast. We got back a few hour overdue, which nearly resulted in the QRF being deployed! The CSM was not happy with our story.... that we had run over a huge badger, which caused us to be so late(We actually did run over a badger, but it did n't take that long to sort out! The CSM knew something was up, but couldn;t prove it. My mate, being a craftsman, got let off with a bollicking and I, being the NCO, got a bollicking and 7 days ROPs

My boyfriend (ex Para) wishes to confess…he was guard commander in Colchester one night when a motorcycle mounted RMP came to visit someone who was in the shit. Whilst he called the adjutant to allow the RMP into camp the RMP Sgt requested to use the guardroom toilets. Unwittingly he left his helmet on the guard commanders table. One of the Toms who was languishing with the rest of the guard force watching porn movies noticed the unguarded RMP helmet and decided to skiff the front area and microphone of said helmet with his fresh sweaty arse juice. My boyfriend said he tried to stop it (likely story) and had to look at the RMP while he donned his freshly skiffed helmet whilst trying not to laugh. His lasting memory was of the RMP’s eyes squinting like he’d been sprayed with CS gas as he rode off into camp. My boyfriend is really sorry for allowing this to happen (not) and is not laughing whilst telling me.

Not so much a sin as a more interest and what it is, is I’ve often wondered if the Japanese I 400 submarine has helped out with spec ops. For those unsure what I’m on about look it up.
