As Mr Ian Douglas Smith said many Rhodesians fought in WW2. Their courageous involvement with the Long Range Desert Group contributed to the formation of the Special Air Service the SAS This video salutes the SAS and especially C-Squadron of Rhodesia.

C Squadron 22 SAS in the British Army remains vacant which i belive is a small gesture to their brave Rhodesian comrades

If they made a gesture you would still be a rhodie as for me a siudwestafrikan , i dont understand youre british love since they dhifted all colonial iseus in the colonials so you dont have to expect enything from the biggest trators who claim to descand from my people the frysian , if the british realy were frysian they never put there own people in deathcamps and or sell them out to terrorist 😉👍 , think about that bro and not out youre feeling for them..

@Christiaan Hollander consuder this im British, i have Rhodie and Zimbo friends that have explained the situation and ive done alot of reading on the subject and asked questions. Also in SA once the Boers NP took power SA was really no longer under Brirish influence. The majority of people in the UK supported Rhodesia in my local area lots went out to farm and had multi generational landowners. You have to understand that after ww2 the UK was on its knees and was basicly bankrupt granting independence to the African colonies was seen as the right thing to do. Could it have been done better yes yes it could but that's using hindsight. Rhodesia was a self governing colony and had they been allowed to slow the transition to the day where it didnt matter who was president or PM (if they like a.lot wanted to the Monarchy) Zimbabwe would be probably they best country in Southen Africa but hindsight is a wonderful thing. One more thing to add alot of ex SAS ww2 vintage went out to Rhodesia mad mike calvert being one of them! So going back to what i was saying in my original comment the British SAS out of reapect for their Rhodesian comrades in arms which was C Squadron 22 SAS vacant as a gesture to them and what they stood for agaist the rising tide
