Wanted to share this interesting story here as I stay as a tenant of this family. A few years after I moved into this house, I was hinted about the great history behind this family and Google searched about their history. I shared this finding to my house owner who is the eldest Lodd member( he recently passed). He was surprised that I studied their family history and handed me the Madras musing paper article written about their family members. The LGN who is mentioned in this video was a great scholar who knew many languages and also had a big collection of books which the family had donated. In addition one can also see the tombstones of their family members in the current area. I have lived in many parts of the country and to stay in a place where Gandhi and Swami vivekananda had visited is one of the surreal moments.

"Are you a big lord or what?" என்ற சொலவடை சென்னையில் விவேக் பிரபலப்படுத்துவதற்கு முன்பாகவே (15 years) இருந்தது. லோட் கிருஷ்நதாஸ் என்ற பெயர் இதில் ஒரு ஊக்கி. பேசும்போது ரைமாக வரவேண்டும் என்பதற்காக "லாடு லபக்தாஸ்" என்று சொல்வோம். (1993 ம் வாக்கில்). அப்படியே பரவி விட்டது. "மூல்யம்" என்ற வார்த்தை ("மூலம்" தான் சரி) பரவியது போல! (1982 முதல்). லாடு லபக்தாஸ் என்று சொல்வது பற்றி அப்போது பேச்சில் அடிக்கடி பயன்படுத்தியதில் அப்போதைய அவ்வளவாக அறிந்திராத சினிமா ரிப்போர்ட்டரான (சொட்ட) மணி!

Sir Thanks for your message. One of that family members by name Lodd Govinda Krishna Das was practicing as an Advocate in High court was having office at 112 ,Addl.Law chambers ,High court Buildings,Chennai-104and he passed away about 2 years ago .He was a very nice gentleman and his family properties were targeted by many of the tenants and finally they were unable to recover their lands worth about several crores .His father' younger brother by name Mr.Lodd Satyanarayan Das also used to my chamber for many rent control cases and I have conducted his case.Now it seems that Govind krishnadas'son is settled in London.Few family members are residing in GP.Road area.

Lord Krishna's bakthan Krishnadas has done so much for Chennai and given away so much lands. Yet no DMK guy will speak about this great person. They will keep calling them Hindiwallas and insult them. The Marwadis, Telugu people were the backbone of most of Chennai's Trade business. If not for them we would not have such commercial centers like T.Nagar, Parrys Corner etc.

There was no need to support Brits then as there was no resistance too. And Brits didn't occupy lands by force initially as they kept on buying lands from Naickers and Chettiyars by proper registration and lease agreement. Also additionally it was impossible for them to govern every piece of land hence they were actually co-inhibited with people. Whom do you think are constituted in 2000 police force during Brit rule ? Rich marwaris ? Or rich Chettiyars? So whom do you want to accuse here ?
